Called for a phone consultation to get information on child support, and custody laws in the state of Ohio. Was insulted, belittled and then hung up on. Don’t waste your time.

My husband and I hired Anica for a custody battle and she was caring, professional, knowledgeable of the law, concise and effective. She was upfront and honest about what she could do. Her prices were more than fair and she worked with us. She represented our interests well and we would hire her again if the need ever arises. I highly recommend her and her staff.

Our family was in need of critical legal guidance and my last attorney had retired. We had no time to consult with many people and take our time. Attorney Anica Blazef-Horner was nothing short of a God-Send!!! She worked LATE hours and weekends guiding us and directing us; always either taking our calls when she was in or returning them in a very timely manner. Often she would call us personally to check on our welfare. She pulled no punches with us as to what was needed and the possible outcome. Our case was a very delicate one and we could not have been and still are grateful for her professionalism and sensitivity to the matter. We will forever be grateful for the outcome!

I’d like to start off by saying if I could give a 0 star I would. By the time the case was over, I was more or less defending myself from my own attorney. As my attorney, she often failed to represent and advocate for my interests, and was clearly interested in settling the matter rather than fighting on my behalf. At one point, she was so unprepared (which would cost me per minute to fix mistakes of her own) that she forgot to add that my maiden name can be changed. She then argued with me saying I don’t really want to change my name and was giving me biased opinions on it when it was already agreed upon to have that in the documentation. During this time, she made changes on my document by handwriting it in, and proceeded to charge me for the time she made me wait for her to return with the final document. She also misplaced my insurance paperwork given to her weeks prior, which took even more time to find and factor in the numbers and make copies. I was in a desperate time in my life. I lacked an understanding of the legal system and deferred to her professional judgment; that was a mistake. Instead of an advocate who would help me leave this unfortunate situation in the best position possible, I received someone who was unprepared, apathetic, and interested in settling the matter and collecting a check. I would recommend hiring someone else if you are in a high-stakes legal situation like I was.

Very pleasant down to earth and a straight shooter also a very good Attorney I highly recommend this Attorney.

Honest and upfront. Hope everyone reading reads through any bad reviews and can see they are mad that they were told the truth and/or didnt get their way. Part of what makes Attorney Horner good is that she doesnt lie to her clients. If she thinks you need go withdrawal, she will tell you. If she thinks you have a good case or need to do things to improve your situation, she will tell you.

I hired this attorney for custody or visitation rights to my grand children as their parents were neglecting/ fighting/ medical neglect and pitting my grand children from one another. I paid a very large payment (paid in advance) to in the least, get visit with my grand children. We had gone thru the motion process, and got to pretrial, at pretrial, the GAL, again paid my me, Stated she recommend no visits from us as the grand children were MAD at us ( grand parents) of course this is something my son (who dont pay support) had co-hearse them to say just like the GAL told us that the mother of these children were telling my grand children to lie. Anica Blazef, then decided that it was going to be an " uphill battle" and suggested us to withdraw, I became very emotional as I didn't know I was on trial, judge, and sentenced by the GAL without any of my evidence( against the parents for neglect) being shown, But NOTE: the mother's bf had a protection of order against him to stay away from my grand children as he ABUSED them. I told Mrs. Blazef I didn't want to withdraw, she stated it would be more money if I proceed. I have paid out almost 10k for this case alone and only got a motion, pretrial and then a threaten more money if I didn't withdraw. Mrs. Blazef failed to file or an alternative solution, she filed custody but not visitations, then said we could file a motion, more money, fr visitations. Mrs . Blazef told us when we talked to her that the best outcome was custody, the worse was visitations... we are worse off than we were before we hired this attorney. Please get everything this woman say on recording, she seems to remember nothing that we talked about. I asked for part of my money back as she did not rendered services I asked for, She is now telling me that each time she talked to the GAL or opposing attorney, the time goes on my bill, How do I stop attorneys from calling one another? I am writing a report to the BAR association and the Disciplinary courts, She is charging for things that are beyond my control. the fee to her was 5000.00, she did at the most 1500.00 for the Motion, ( I have filed in the past and this costed NOTHING) and pretrial, which SHE wanted to withdraw and pressured me into the signing or pay more money. This is NOT worth 5000.00. I wish I could show image of my bill. 3200.00 charged to me for emails, not only from myself but the other attorneys involved. This is unethical.
