I've dealt with this firm twice. The first experience was great, which is why I gave two stars. It was an eviction for tenants that stopped paying rent. All went smoothly and I was happy with things.

The second experience was selling our home to buy another. We sold our home to an out of state business. We were assured it would be a simple sale. The sale was contingent on the purchase of our new home going through. Our new home was contingent on the sale of our old home.

We knew of and asked for three things. They were to handle the contract with the business, deal with the contingency and to ensure we didn't end up homeless in the process of the sale and purchase of our new home. All pretty standard stuff.

Things should have gone smoothly, but things were far from smooth. Communication was very difficult. Many unreturned calls and emails and nothing was really done for the first week. Our buyer even asked when they were going to get things started.

Once things finally did get moving the general office staff was very helpful, but often times we were left waiting for the lawyer to review things. They blamed the business that was buying our home saying they were slow and wanted more documents than normal, but that business informed us they couldn't get timely replies and our loan officer also couldn't get calls returned. So it's very clear the issue is with the firm, not the other parties.

The communication issues aside, the final straw was a critical mistake in the contract. Despite explicitly mentioning that we needed to coordinate things so we didn't end up homeless between the sale and purchase the contract failed to do that.

The contract gave possession to the business at closing. We couldn't close on our new place until the old place sold, which is why we knew to ask that things be coordinated. So, after we're at the point of no return (back out dates had passed) we realized we had no time to close on the new place and move. At signing for the sale of our old home we were homeless until the new home sale was closed.

Needless to say we were very upset and anxious about things. We called and there seemed to be little concern about the situation, but the lawyer said he'd try to get us time to move. At this point the business buying our place was very tired of dealing with things. They offer us three days and after that anything remaining in the house would be deemed abandoned.

We had no choice but to accept that move out time. After accepting that the firm tells us things may take a day or two to close. So we were again thrown back into an unknown and maybe ending up homeless. The firm has their own title company so they were handling all that too. So there's no excuse for not communicating things better. We signed with the understanding the sale and purchase would close the same date.

Things worked out in the end and we had two days to move, but honestly we got lucky. Things could have gone wrong and we'd have been without a home. I honestly can't believe things were so botched.

Given the experience we had I can't recommend the firm or their title company.

So far my dealings here have been friendly and the price has been reasonable. I am planning to use the firm again in the future.
