I had a difficult divorce/custody that involved over state lines litigation. I was not from the state of Ohio so I was hesitant about getting fair legal representation. He was appointed GAL for my fiance's custody case. Didn't do anything he was supposed to, no house visit, no phone calls, didn't even show up to the court hearing which pushed back the hearing another 3 months. Still almost 3 months later and nothing.
