I would highly recommend Beth to anyone who needs legal guidance with any Mineral Rights issues. We needed to unravel some problems we had with deeds that weren't up to date for Estate Planning purposes. Beth went to work for us and totally straightened out our problems in no time and now our Estate Planning is in order.

Per a phone conversation with Ms. Tarasi on July 16, 2019, Ms. Tarasi does not think it is unethical for an attorney to file a meritless legal action (ie, to file a lawsuit that has zero chance of winning). I have been told by another attorney that it is unethical to do this. Ms. Tarasi also did not see a problem with an attorney filing a meritless action on behalf of a client without informing the client that there is zero chance of winning the lawsuit. She said attorneys do this - file meritless actions - "all the time." Perhaps she is right, and they do, but presumably they would do it only when the client insists. I found it very difficult to explain my issue to Ms. Tarasi. She was rude and argumentative for no reason. Another attorney to whom I explained the facts of my complaint easily understood what the problem was. Ms. Tarasi did not understand and she repeatedly asked me the same question. I did not get a good impression of her and would not hire her based on this rather bizarre interaction.

Ms. Tarasi: What I didn't like was your hostility and rudeness, but worse, your ignorance of the law. What I described constituted legal malpractice. Either you were too arrogant to listen until you heard all the facts, or you do not know the law. Either way, your hostility was beyond the pale and that is why I hung up the phone. I will not engage with someone who treats me with disrespect. Your being a lawyer does not make you better than me, or anyone.

The law firm took a legal action in my name, with my money, that was directly contrary to my interests and contrary to my clearly expressed wishes (expressed both in writing and verbally). Then the lawyers pretended that I had told them to file the appeal, and they pretended that as lawyers, they just do what the client wants without advising the client on what is in the client's best interests. Even if I had directed them to file the appeal, they would have been committing malpractice to do so without first advising me that it was not in my interests to do so. I clearly told them why I was hiring them. They deliberately ignored me in order to defraud me of the retainer I had paid them.

Beth Tarasi handled my family estate situation both professionally, honestly and with the tenacity that was needed. For someone I had never met in person the video on their website of her and her Dad was all I needed as it showed that she would care and get the job done! They really are about the values we espouse to have in Pittsburgh, strong and honest! I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone I know who needs an Attorney with her particular skill set, because she is good at it! Girl you rock! :)
