After 1 1/2 years of getting no where with finality of my divorce I hired Jame Maughan as my attorney and it was "life changing". She and her assistant, Karen, were what I call no-nonsense. They gathered the facts of my case in a timely and efficient manner and their communications were prompt and efficient. While the other side was not willing to settle, Jane took a solid stance and guided me on how to proceed. We were able to settle the divorce without a Master's Hearing and withing 9 months of me hiring her. Jane's knowledge and ability to navigate quickly through the unimportant things made the monies I paid to her well earned. Contacted this attorney to represent me, but after going through her review process and having to wait for an answer, I was referred to a different law firm altogether. I guess representing a woman who has been left living at the poverty level with her children after we'd suffered years of abuse and neglect at the hands of a sociopathic estranged husband is beneath her representation. Wouldnt be surprised if she ends up representing our "perpetrator". So much for women standing by women.

Terrible attorney. Cold, short and no -personal. She was involved with a large county case when she took my divorce case. I heard nothing for months. Many phone calls were left unreturned. Then she sent me a packet with a letter. Basically, she cut me loose midstream, leaving me with no counsel because I wasn't worth enough money to her. She did the same thing to a friend. Her priorities are all about herself, not her clients.

Jane Maughan handled my divorce and it is one of the best decisions I have ever made. For starters she has a very precise system to prep for the proceedings that cuts straight to the bone. No wasting time going on about irrelevant issues (and running the bill up). In fact I can not count how many times I started to go on about something that really had no effect on the case and she politely stopped me and kept me on track. I can't help but think other attorneys could have sat there quietly and let the meter run. Every step of the way she communicated what would happen next and when I could expect it to happen. After calling to get a certified copy of my name change for passport verification I was rudely hung up on by Karen. Department of State would not accept the copy her office sent me. I was merely asking for the proper phone number to direct me in the right direction. Incredibly rude.
