This company does a great job at prolonging the amount of money they can get from you while accomplishing nothing. I spent 18k and still was not close to a resolution because I took their “professional” advice. When I went to court my attorney Dianna Cavaliere instead sent her paralegal. On top of that they claim I owe money even though I always paid in advance. My advice is to stay away.

Great marketing, smiling faces, impressive professional degrees and associations, 5 star ratings? After a short honeymoon period where all necessary documents are written and filed in a timely fashion and clients are directed on how to proceed with the important CIS form, then the real Weinberger Law Group shows its true colors with mechanical, robotic lawyering at its best. After three information gathering appointments, I never spoke to any lawyer again ever. Only contact I had was with an email address which cost at least $40 per email message. No one informed me when my case was transferred from one office to another. When I asked the new assigned lawyer if I was going to be charged for the new office to be informed of my case they assured me not and then when the monthly bill came it showed the transition charges. I estimate at least $2000 in overages and spent what seems like more time with the billing department than on my case. I raised this billing issue in July 2018, went to a new attorney in September 2018. As I am writing this review in February 2019, I have still yet to receive any money that firm agreed to refund to me ($640).

WLG lies, the client has no rights and their accounting department rules. I cut the cord with WLG when I realized that I was being abused. I found a wonderful caring lawyer who had to put form and structure to a mess of a case inherited from WLG. Stay away from big firms with convenient offices all over the state.

I am very disappointed in the service I received. I was promised a lot, and in return I did not get anything. Now, I owe over $14K for the service and felt like nothing acted in my favor. There was a lack of researched and communication that was conducted on my case, and I felt like I was cheated and the case was more favorable to the defendant. I am a mother and taking care of a child and I ended up paying this higher bill and no alimony was giving and no settlement. I barely make money to support my daughter and other bills. My Ex who owns a business got away with paying nothing. Even in the court, it didn't seem like my lawyer was working for me. I felt like I wasted all my time and money in hiring a lawyer from this firm. How is this a justice?

I had a horrible, absolutely terrible expirence with Matthew Gerber as my attorney for my divorce. It’s been almost 6 months, after spending 10k, my divorce is still not finalized and after Matthew giving me bad advice over and over again, I had to fire him. A paperpusher, who does little to nothing, accomplishes nothing he says he will. Gave me the run around over and over again. I am extremely disappointed in this law firm. Over time I could barely reach Matthew on the phone, but his office was quick to bill me thousands of dollars for doing absolutely nothing. Worse “attorney” I have ever hired.

Nevertheless, the vast incompetency and bad (even naive) attitude demonstrated by the attorneys mentioned below were simply disappointing and unacceptable.

(2-Apr-18) Just to close the loop on this. With the help from the other firm (Townsend, Tomaio & Newmark), my custody case was finally settled after going on trial half way and I received the desirable result. Due to the mishandling of the case by Weinberger initially, I ended up spending ~100k on the case. It was such a horrible story. Here is my opinion on attorneys I worked with:
Allison Holzman: completely horrible, no expertise and has bad attitude
Alison M. Dunn: she did show her caring, but really did not have much knowledge/experience.
As mentioned below, I tried very hard to discuss the issues with Weinberger's management, even by calling the number they left below. But never received any proper response.
(27-Jun-17) The manager of the office called me back and did not appear to care about anything. I spent more than $1000 in May to just have them identify a parenting evaluator, for which they amazingly failed to provide a proper option. Given the size of the firm, it is very surprising to know that they have actually little experience with parenting evaluation at all. I ended up switching to another firm and things final got back on track. The other firm identified two excellent evaluators within 10 minutess of consultation. The last thing you need during a divorce is incompetent attorneys with bad attitude. So please consider staying away from Weinberger Law Group, which has little expertise and is certainly horribly managed.
(4-May-17) I need to update this since I just called the number in the response today as instructed in your response to look for solutions. The lady answering the phone did not know what I was talking about. I left a message to the office manager in the Parsippany office.
(Dec-16) I am editing the response here to confirm that I am a current client of Weinberger Law Group. Allison Holzman was the attorney I felt very frustrated with (ineffective and inefficient work, bad attitude) and I switched off from her.
(Oct-16) I have been spending more than a year and around $15k on my divorce case with this firm. So far, I have not even been to ESP. They basically just want to please the attorney from the other side, and let them drag things along. My clear questions regarding the progress and next step got ignored so many times. I certainly regret my choice, which I have to stick with for now.

Bari is an excellent attorney, helped me a lot on my case, especially to defeat the malevolent and greedy alimony that raised by the ex in the trial. Their service is costly, but it is good professional service with high quality. I recommend Bari and her team.

If what I got was the best the firm could offer in the way of representation they need to re-check themselves! Went in after ex stopped paying alimony..they knew up front I had taken a loan from work and was desperately struggling because I had tried to work it out with ex over and over and was stuck in my lease.. I was told right up front 'NO..he can't do that..plus judges hate when they take matters into own hands' .. I was NEVER told there was even a chance he could get away with it or more importantly that there was no enforcement other than wage attachment (he is currently appealing his declined SSD)..the night before court my lawyer said he was 'working on some ways to enforce' the tentative that was in my favor..tells me the day of court there is no other way..that would have been nice to know BEFORE..like when I first walked in!! He could have been honest and said YES..he can do this ..we can go to court but legally no guarantee of any enforcement...that would have helped me make a more informed decision! He knew the SSDI situation up front..During my time with Weinberger twice I was NOT told my lawyer was out..first time with family issue and everything was on hold but I was not informed..that was 2 weeks..found out only because I wasn't being responded to and called them ..I was getting anxious from not hearing from him..finally after weeks he was back..then again after a few more weeks ..more silence ...found out he was out with concussion but they were going to 'turn me over' to another attorney since no idea when he would be back..they NEVER stated she was a 'more expensive' lawyer and are now billing me the additional for her even though none of this was my doing or fault...after meeting with new lawyer the original lawyer ended up in court with me and I found out that morning he had been out 4 weeks and was not allowed to be on his phone or computer, etc! This was first week back..When we got into court (after him telling me my tentative which was totally in my favor rarely gets changed) he was totally scattered in his thoughts (even my brother saw and stated as much and said we were totally 'outgunned') and YES..I do believe his concussion and it's severity affected my representation...and he then stated to the judge out loud that I would have been better off financially if my ex had DIED. (I had told him all along my ex was using every thing he could to make me look bad to my kids..I even changed paperwork to make sure it was not vicious in any way) He later sent me email after court about how he and the judge joked about that comment because the judge couldn't believe he said that. That it took the 'air right out of the room' the judge said..now my kids are frosty with me and I believe it's because of that statement getting back to them through his lawyer ..WHY say such a thing in court? The judge then changed everything in the tentative and my ex is already back in contempt after my so called 'win'..and I’m out another $700...and now after me giving them everything I had financially thinking my tentative would give me at least some financial relief (now I have to go to court by myself to file contempt AGAIN)..they sent me a huge bill (with more expensive lawyer fee added) and the interest they are charging me?? is MORE than the small payment I can afford to give them each month! I’m just trying to get back on my feet by moving, taking money out of my retirement (with penalties and fees) to pay the work loan..My lawyer says I WON??? What did I win? Only thing I won? Was a huge bill and enormous interest...a blown apart retirement and estranged kids! As I said..if THAT is their best???? I'm so much worse off than when I walked in that day! He should have been honest ...that the ex COULD do what he is doing!!!!! They called me a 'favorite' client..were they nice enough people? Sure..so am I..very nice ...but I wasn't paying for niceness to me.. I was paying for someone to go up an abusive, controlling ex who took the law into his own hands! And that is NOT what I got!!

I went to this form for services. The initial consult was fantastic. After that it all went down hill.

Over a 3 month period I consistently had emails not returned or responded to. My spouses attorney didn't have emails responded to. I asked for a word version of the agreement so I could put in my personal bank info and other details. My request was repeatedly ignored.

They charge a monthly fee of 75$ as part of the "overhead charge". I was still charged overhead for months where I had no work (not even email or phone correspondence) done for me and had to try to refute this. Even after that they only reduced the charge.

To make matters worse after I finally got everything wrapped up I asked for my remaining retainer returned and I had to either email them a photo copy of my credit card or physically go in ( I work over an hour away). They wouldn't mail me a check!

Carmela Novi has proven to be the real deal when it comes to long term problem solving with Divorce and Family Law issues. Several of my friends have used Carmela and consider her to be compassionate with their cases. She is an expert in her field and knows when to use her skills to protect the client. I will continue to recommend Carmela based on all the great feedback and success she has gained in her cases.

Komal took my mess of a custody situation and handled it with professionalism and a superior display of legal knowledge. I called this firm hoping to get an appointment as a free consultation as advertised on their site. Money is so tight with raising two young children. Back in 2013 I made an appointment but cancelled as my husband and I were going to try and work things out. Well, now 1 year later the marriage has not improved and I need a divorce attorney. I called to get an appointment and was told, "sorry you have to pay for a consultation because your appointment that you set up was your free consultation even though you never came." How cold and heartless is this?! This type of firm has proved to me that they are only in it for the money and could careless about helping someone. Their fees are $275 and hour for a beginner attorney and $425 for Bari. Would it really kill this firm to have said, since we never got to talk to you, come in for the free consult!!

I can't thank Erin Brueche and her team enough for bringing me through one of the most difficult things I'll ever experience. Erin was knowledgeable of the law but never once forced me to make a decision that I wasn't comfortable with. She was thoughtful and understanding throughout the entire process, which was important to me because I wanted things to be as peaceful as possible with my ex wife. I am writing at this time to commend the Weinberger Law Group on the excellent job they did in representing me in my divorce. I would especially like to thank Raquel Vallejo for her time, efforts and results. A divorce is a horrible thing to go thru and Raquel was there for me not only as a lawyer but as a true supportive resource. I would also like to commend Erin's assistant, Donna who handled communications, organizing paperwork and made life and paper trails a lot easier and smoother, setting appointments, meetings, and the number of cancellations and re-scheduling she needed to do. She always remembers when a meeting/court appointment would be and remind me whenever the dates come close. I remember when we had tons of paperwork that needed to be scanned, Donna managed through them all, and had to divide them into 4 separate emails just so the size would be able to get through.
