I went to have a consultation with the attorney in regards to legalizing my husband in the US, we have been married for many years but we held back because my husband had been arrested once due to his EX calling the police because he wanted to see his son, they downgraded his charges of domestic violence to a misdemeanor (city ordinance) charging him a fine of $500. His EX also placed several orders on him but the court dismissed them all since there was no evidence of domestic violence and she was constantly changing her story. My case was complicated. On top of that, the recent strict policies by the immigration authorities. In such a situation when my hope to get a respectable status in US was on a demise, Mr. Harlan York took my case with great confidence and appointed one of the best attorneys in his law firm, Ms Maggie Dunsmuir to help me out.
Long story short, my case was approved, I got my i130 followed by green card. Can you believe this? Yes, this can happen when you go with HARLAN York Law firm for your immigration issues and your attorney is Maggie. These people are doing awesome job in Newark NJ. I have found them very professional, very confident and aggressive fighters. First they helped me complete my all legal paper work required, charged the fee and involved no emotions. Yes, they can be less sympathetic when you are emotionally distressed because of your situation but they will be very aggressive on legal grounds to fight for your rights in the courts.
I did nt have any criminal background and I am qualified worker. With that, they proved in the court that I was a bonafide husband and a responsible citizen as well. I am especially overwhelmed by their process they did that.

I have consulted Mr. York twice. Honestly, I think I completely wasted my time. He knows nothing about H1-B and answers 0 of my questions. He was acting like a big bro who knows every single piece of the immigration law. But all he provided me was some forum information online, which is not helpful at all. I needed some solid legal advises from an experienced lawyer which was why I was in your office. At the end of our conversation, he said: "I was born in here, I am an American and I don't have an immigration issue so I couldn't feel what you are feeling." That's exactly what I had been thinking while we were talking. I couldn't imagine an immigration lawyer who couldn't place himself in the immigrant's position and have no sympathy is continuously serving for more immigrants. I seriously doubt where all of these good comments about him come from?! He answered 0 questions for my consulting session at least and I would like to write a honest review. Every immigration case is urgent and many times immediate actions are required. Don't waste your time to talk to a lawyer without sympathy and a sense of obligation. All in all, I just wanted to write my experience, give a truthful and honest review. I am not going to be your client and why I bother to be your client based on your attitude during the consulting session. Having tons of "best of lawyer" doesn't really mean anything if you don't care about immigrants from your deep heart.

Harlan York, ESQ is really the best immigration lawyer of America. He took our (my wife and I) case almost ten years ago when we were under deportation proceedings. It was in fact dead case. However, he had very well-grounded and clear appearance in the Immigration Court in Newark. Deportation proceedings were removed, we got green cards in 2011 and now we are American citizens from 2016. We vote for Mr. York not by one, but by two hands.

They helped my father get his green card while he was in removal proceedings. They were the only lawyers we met with that suggested a green card application with a waiver instead of just a cancellation of removal application, the only ones who thought of that as an option. It is important to note that Mr. York himself does not litigate but he works very closely with whichever associate is assigned to you that will mainly focus on the case. Lauren Anselowitz worked closely with us and was extremely helpful. It seems that immigration just like most things is about knowing people and Lauren knows just about everybody relevant to Newark immigration courts. Even though they are extremely busy and it may seem they are a little too busy to focus on your case at times, when it comes down to your case it will be all about you and they will do everything in their capability to ensure you win. Lauren leaves no loose ends and makes sure that you are working closely with her providing any document that helps. I recently needed an urgent consultation with an immigration attorney re a Green Card issue for my 83 year old mother. The firm was recommended by a friend- she married a US citizen and they assisted her trough the entire process from initial visa to citizenship. I cannot speak highly enough of my experiences with Harlan and his staff. Throughout my entire dealings with the firm I was always made to feel comfortable and well informed.
