Apparently all his negative reviews are fake, but only positive ones are real, but somehow ones that have written a review haven't reviewed any other place. I was his customer. He did nothing but l lying to me from the day one. First he seems very reliable but once he gets his money he'll never talks to you again. Give vague answers so you end up doing your own research and find out he isn't telling the truth. Therefore you play cat and mouse game until you make enough calls so he can charge for your entire retainer fee. Do yourself a favor and avoid his office.

Beware! Joseph is among the wolves in sheep’s Clothing in the legal profession, masquerading as an advocate ( ie a good attorney). He is condescending and patronizing and preys upon the clients who come to him in desperation and urgency, particularly those he deems unlearned and ignorant of the law. Prior to getting his retainer he is empathic, experienced and well connected, claiming to be in with whomever you may need on your side to have a favorable outcome to your case. Unfortunately, once he receives his retainer, ( incidentally not in line with standard fees for the service rendered) he does not proceed professionally nor is he an advocate for the client once retained unless he sees the client as a lucrative asset. As a client without means you may not receive any record of his court filings, timely updates so that you are prepared for fines or being detained or arrested, or receipts for his activities detailing his retainer fee. In addition any legal intervention he assures you he will take on your behalf is shrouded, unclear and most likely haphazardly done so that timely updates and having a sense of advocacy and peace of mind are denied. At this point he will quote his real fee for actually handling your case, which will be out of your range of immediate affordability. Since he does not have any incremental payment plan, he will feign concern by informing you that a public defender will be made available through the courts, since he has completed his work on your case. ( not what you were led to believe he was retained to do unfortunately!) In short, list him among the predators of the poor and marginalized and remember to report your concerns to the American Bar Association regarding any legal counsel who fails to adequately represent you and above all Do not retain Joseph Potashnik!!!

From the first meeting he knew exactly how to tackle the case and gave a very informative and detailed plan of action of how the case will enfold and the outcome we were striving for. I received a letter from the IRS asking me to appear at an interview and bring along some documents. I tried hard but I couldn’t think of any reason why I got the letter, but to be on the safe side I called Joseph Potashnik and Associates. Mr Potashnik immediately told me not to speak to the investigators and not to go to the interview and we scheduled a meeting for the next day. It turned out the most probable reason for the investigation was that my boyfriend moved in a few months ago, and he had been renting out his apartment the whole time. I had a medicaid fraud case, and I did research online and decided to use JP as my representative to deal with this case. It was hassle free. Case resolved in a month. Everyone in the law firm are very knowledgeable and responsible. I personally dealt with the paralegal alot. She is beyond helpful and explained things very patiently and clearly. I will strongly recommend this firm. They charge consultation fee, however, if you decide to use them at the end, they will include the consultation fee in the flat rate they quote u. Mr. Joseph Potashnik is an unethical attorney, who's only out to get you money. I have had a horrible experience with, where he charged a ridiculous fee upfront, and was unable to properly represent, and was not willing to put an effort to do so. Then she asked me if I wanted to schedule a consultation and I agreed, even though their consultation is not free. I met with Joseph the next day and the consultation lasted about 2 hours. He explained everything to me very clearly and his answers were honest, without sugarcoating or trying to use the scare tactics. I decided to hire him and boy, was it a right decision. The case took a while to finish and in the end I could eat, sleep, and live again. I recommend Joseph to anyone who needs a criminal lawyer.
