James was personally referred to me by a friend, and regardless of that fact, his professionalism was nowhere to be found. James made multiple assurances to me regarding my case, and told me what he figured I wanted to hear. He took his fee, and then promptly disappeared. I called his office 5 times, never got a hold of him, and left messages for him to call me back. I have heard nothing for well over 8 months now. I emailed him 4 times, not once did he reply. Not a single call or email returned. So, not only did he lie to me about my case, he ignored any attempt of contact whatsoever. I would urge anyone thinking about using this lawyer to take their case elsewhere.

I was skeptical because of the 3.8 rating, but I think some ratings are incorrect assessments because they are disappointed of the way traffic court is handled (which isn’t any lawyer’s fault, especially Mr birch’s). It’s extremely hard to succeed in traffic court (Staten Island), but your chances are good with Mr. Birch!

Very helpful and informative. His office staff was very nice and patient.
I had a speeding ticket and James was able to bring it down a couple points so I wouldn't have to pay the driver assement fee. In short, his services basically paid for itself.

I got a ticket in sept of 2016 in staten island. It was raining really hard and I was pulled over for "speeding". A friend of mine who lives in SI highly recommend James. James Birch forgot that he was supposed to represent me, his logic is, that because he postponed a hearing, doesn't mean I'm his client, and just because he has a receptionist and my contact information, doesn't mean he's required to have anyone get in contact with me....I drive for my living, I got 4 points on my license for doing 48 in a 40. Thanks for nothing James.

I know that waiting or trying to get to speak to someone who is very good at what they do and in high demand is frustrating, but I have to tell you, its well worth the wait! Mr. Birch and his team always took my messages and I did feel connected to the processes because either by the internet or by a call, I was kept up to date on the status of my situation.
