We had her do a adoption for us, it went really good, considering it was a pretty easy one to do. Mother was on board and we new dad would come forward, had her whole life so we new this would be a breeze. The only thing I would of wanted is more communication letting us know what was going on and what to expect next. Other than that they did a great job, staff was very friendly, Malinda Brown is a great Attorney. Thank You for your help.

She was going to help with a yrsfic ticket.
Here's what happened, she made it worse for me . Do not use her for tragic tickets . You could loose your job.
If I had paid the ticket I would have saved 300 dollars and so much more.
1 star is more than she deserves.

I'm a Disabled Veteran with a regular hospital malpractice claim refered to this office by the Oregon State Bar. Called this office and immediately told to call another office out of state. Called them and was told they would call back. When they called back later, the person I spoke with seemed very uncaring about my issue. I felt that she was ridiculing and demeaning everything I was trying to tell her. From what I felt she was portraying, is that she expected me to do all their lawyer work for them, in advance, and then they might look at my information. She also told me that a world full of case histories and doctors statements about my condition doesn't matter. I thought a good lawyer goes over the case information (even if a retainer is needed) and if a Specialist's statement is needed, you get an outside doctor to review it because obviously no local doctor is going to talk against the local hospital. She refused to make an appointment to review my case, as an Oregon State Bar referral, and told me to seek another attorney.

If you want an attorney who will lay down and let the state run roughshod over her with zero objection, Melinda is the attorney for you. Didn't fight for me whatsoever. Took 7 months to get into court for a hearing that lasted 5 minutes. She just sat there and let the state provide testimony that she told me the entire time she 'wasn't worried about.' She got hammered in the courtroom. Do not give this woman your money. Terrible attorney.

After she gets the money, she doesn't respond to any communication and doesn't do a good job either. She was the only one providing traffic defense. She requested $500 to fight a speeding ticket. I found a typical price was around $250, but her monopoly drove the price up. She was extremely responsive before she got the money. She promptly sent me a check to sign. I requested court minutes both from her and from the court. She sent them to me with everything striked out. The only visible information was the fine. The court minutes from the court showed the attorney asked one question only - when was your radar calibrated last time? That's it. For $500. Then she said - I've got no more questions. I could apply for a defensive driving that would keep that violation off the record, but she didn't tell me about that option. Zero service for big money. I called the court and asked why the defensive driving school wasn't considered. I was told that it should have been, but the attorney didn't request it. DO NOT HIRE HER. Save your money. If you have no other attorney, just face whatever you have, do not flush extra money down the toilet.

Seriously, get a different attorney! Do be sure to ready any "unhelpful" review posts that you come across as well as she gets ones that she doesn't like deemed "unuseful" so that they aren't displayed or counted towards her score. I've found a few of the negative reviews hidden there.

There were so many issues that we had with her, but we loved the other staff!

She needs to have soo much more personal contact with her clients, verses spending so much time in many different states. It lead to SOOO much confusion and missunderstandings.

Once she's decided she's done with you, she's exceedingly rude.

Please note that while they say a Revocation of Power of Attorney does not have to be filed with the courts, everything I have found says you need to file it with EVERY place it may have been used - one of the issues we had.

Overall, the frustration isn't worth it. But gave her two stars for the items we were happy with.

If she would give her clients more one on one time with her clients there would be less confusion and issues. Hopefully her being so pissed off with reviews would tell her the amount of confusion and frustration she puts her clients through.

My husband and I are also dealing with Melinda Brown. My husband was previously married, and had a child so they had to deal with custody issues as well in 2009. Melinda Brown took the $2500.00 he paid up front, and is now garnishing my husbands wages for another $2400.00!! She has and had not done anything for his case whatsoever, and we are STILL fighting for custody because of everything she messed up! Anyone else who has had problems with her should report her to OSBAR for malpractice! :/
