Was great until the custody trial started. My case went from smooth to rough within 5 minutes of the trial. Gave me some bad advice about my appeal. First he told me that the results of the trial does not take action until my appeal was settled. This was far from true and he told me, I'm not a Judge. Charged me up front to start the appeal process, only later on to find out that the results of the trial start immediately after the trial. The lawyer knew I was in bind with my finances, but charged me for starting the appeal process even though I was also being put on child support immediately. I stated in advance that I do not want to go forward with the appeal process, if I was going to have to start paying child support.

Absolutlety blessed to find this firm!! I needed a lawyer to advocate for my children and I and that’s exactly what Jill Abrahamson did! The thing that caught my attention was that this was a father daughter law firm , they do business the way it should be done. Like a family, stern when needed yet compassionate and understanding. Jill Abrahamson and her father Hugh Abrahamson are nothing short of a dynamic duo. She represented exactly how I wanted my attorney to. She listened but also made me listen. I learned a lot about my rights and have more confidence to stand my ground with my sons father. We fought a battle that felt to me was life or death. My children are my life and I believe Jill saw that by the end of my case. I am in the military and recently had orders to move to Colorado, the lawyer I had at the time did not represent my case very well at all. As soon as I hired Hugh he took incredible action to help try and smooth over some of the issues that were dealt to me in regards to my daughter and child custody. Hugh would answer any phone calls or questions I had at any time of the day it did not matter. He reassured me everything in the end will turn out fine. I was very impressed with the knowledge he had over my ex’s lawyer which she was from a very big and expensive law firm. He is very professional, sharp and well educated. You could tell he did his homework and left out no detail in my case. Im sure once they get to court, they are wonderful. However, getting to that point is a nightmare.
I was told application for guardianship for my father would cost 5k, I could ay however as long as i paid the retainer up front. Took me a month to get the money together, ready to pay retainer fee, only to be told they dont accept credit cards over the phone.
This is complete BS, if u did not want to take the case don't lie about it. Bad look for a Lawyer.
My father is a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran who can no longer take care of himself, i am an active duty soldier with 18 years of service trying to take care of him.
Not that I expect any sort of special treatment for my choice of career path over anyone else, but maybe equal treatment is to much to expect.
Turns out it was a blessing in disguise, as i found a legitimate caring attorney who will do it all tor $3500, reimbursing me for any remains after case is over.

Hugh Abrahamson has helped me so much with two different cases, that were stressful but he helped me feel at ease. I love that he is honest & caring, he’s a good man & one of the best lawyers ever. Definitely recommend him.

I highly recommend Jill for child custody issues. I feel the system is really stacked against fathers in Nebraska courts. Jill fought hard for me and my daughters in court and during negotiations. She met my girls and really cared about them. She successfully won me everything I asked for. My daughters live with me and are safe. Thanks Jill for believing in me.
