Garbage. Lawyer had video evidence, eyewitness testimony, court documents, and over 100 pages of text messages and still blew my case. Rebecca almost allowed a 2 time convicted drug felon on 5 years probation place me in contempt and I’m a family support worker. I fired this lawyer the second my first case was finished because if i would allow her to represent me any further she would let a drug felon on probation take my kids as a family support worker. Rebecca refuses to allow my evidence in court when I told her before the hearing that she would be fired before the court date if she did not show evidence. Rebecca agreed to show evidence and at court hearing would not do as I had requested. She worked searching for supervised visitation centers for my exwife at my expense and I am reporting conflict of interest to the BAR in Nebraska. Don’t use his lawyer or you will lose a solid case.
Rebecca is nice there's no question about that. She even gave us a discount off her normal rates. However, I would've paid full price had I known how terrible of a job she was going to do, then use a discounted rate and being sick as an excuse. She completely messed up a divorce and custody. She gave us less than 48 hours notice for deadlines for affidavits and a court date and blamed it on the email going to her personal email address instead of her work email address. Then, didn't even submit the stuff we rushed around to get to her in time. She didn't have an ounce of 'fight' in her when it came to what we needed her to do for us. She was childish and when I expressed my concern for her lack of effort, she took it personal and did even worse from that point on. I think she intentionally sabotaged the case. We were blindsided every step of the way with her and she wasn't proactive or prepared for anything the other side was doing. She failed to notarize things so the judge likely didn't see very important documents that could've changed the outcome. She showed up late to court and totally unprepared. She advised us to drop a protection order (that we never should have agreed to) but she said "if you don't drop it you're going to piss off the judge". She lied right to our face when we asked if a 17 year old could have a voice in the case. After losing every step of the way we finally paid more money to get a different lawyer and the difference between them is night and day. We hired a professional now and it seems as though Rebecca either didn't care or didn't know what she was doing. We've learned that we had other options that Rebecca never mentioned or thought to offer us. We've found out the hard way that the "nice" lawyers are likely the worst lawyers because that's the only thing they have going for them. A free lawyer from a clinic would've tried harder to reach our goals than she did. I'd recommend everyone stay away from her and her terrible service. Once all the dust settles I'd like to sue her to get our money back even if all of it goes to the new lawyer it would satisfy me on a matter of principle, because she should pay us for the poor outcome she helped create. Maybe she's better at other things but for custody and divorce she's terrible!

I had a fantastic experience with Mrs. Smith and her law firm! She is very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, caring, prompt, and most of all: thorough! Her attention to detail is impeccable, and I would certainly recommend Rebecca to anyone I know needing legal services. Time and time again, she has proven herself to follow through with commitments, and is very trustworthy. Deal in complete confidence here, folks! Five stars/two thumbs up for Smith Law Omaha, an asset to the community!!
