Its shocking. You don't even know what to think or what happened to you. It's overwhelming and scary. Knowing i would need a lawyer, i started embarrassingly googling and researching and learning. I contacted ramsell bc they kept popping up high on searches so i figured why not. I was very impressed w their reviews and did a live chat w someone that led to a real phone call on a Saturday! I couldn't believe it bc i couldn't wait till Monday. Victor was the person who i talked to from ramsell and associates and he was incredibly kind and authentic, empathetic, patient and reassuring. Everything you are looking for when you're in this position. I met with 1 lawyer prior to victor and was thinking i would go with that 1st lawyer and that my appointment w victor was going to be simply going through the motions w a 5% open mind only to get a 2nd opinion and to see what he had to say. I met w victor later on a Wednesday bc that fit my schedule and had an extensive consult where Victor answered ALL my questions and never rushed me. He was again patient, authentic, empathetic and kind. He was definitely persuading me from the 5% in the process. One of the tipping points for me was the difference in tactics with the county dui evaluation. Ramsells approach is to wait till they tell you to go, for various reasons and the 1st lawyer that i saw encouraged me to do that right away. I can see how that would've been potentially detrimental to me.
Im so glad i went with ramsell. The other initial concern was that ramsell seemed like a big firm that was just into cranking through the cases and you werent really a person and once they got you signed up w them, you would be put on the back burner unable to ever reach the ever elusive lawyer. Which is frustrating. Victor assured me that was not the case at ramsell and i could reach him directly by email if i ever needed to and he would reply in an efficient manner. I was getting a good feeling and i wanted to believe him. I was concerned w the years of experience w victor and the 1st lawyer i was considering but victor assured me that Mr.Ramsell was very involved from kinda behind the scenes and brings the experience and the accomplishments. I put victors words to the test the next day after our appointment regarding his availability through email w another valid question. He wasn't lying. He responded efficiently w great advice. I signed on and im so glad i did. Results, results, results. The bottom line is you want results. Ive never, ever been in this position before and i was so scared. I felt my consequence was quite harsh for my 1st offense, quite frankly, but it is what it is. I couldn't fathom driving with the baiid blow device in my car for a year, which is what my suspension was bc i didn't blow. Somehow, someway, my suspension lasted 11 days and its bc of the fine work of those at ramsell. I will forever be grateful. Its like a miracle. I got the baiid put in my car, to be better safe than sorry, and was ecstatic to get it removed only 2 weeks after it was put in. The guy at the garage where the baiid was installed and subsequently removed 2 weeks later, said they very rarely see a baiid taken out so quickly after it's been installed! I was so appreciative and grateful that was me! Its the little things in life that you take for granted like starting a car without blowing into a device and every 15 minutes when driving. It's thanks to ramsell and associates and their guidance, and effective strategies and tactics that i have to thank for my freedom in driving again w a fully reinstated license and NO baiid device in my car. I felt the lawyers and office staff at ramsell celebrated with me. It was so awesome. Like we were all in this together. They treated me with such dignity in an embarrassing and humbling situation.
I still have more to go in my case but im happy to be w ramsell. Right choice.
Don fought with them tooth and nail during our two day trial. He pulled out the proverbial smoking gun (my video) which showed that all the cops were lying. The jury saw this an I was found not guilty on both counts.
Don Ramsell is your best defense in DuPage County
I spent almost a week getting consultations in person and over the phone, and eventually chose Ramsell & Assoc over the early front-runner, my previous attorney (whom I personally and professional respect) after a consultation with Jason Kunowkski. Jason’s confidence and strategy as to how he’d handle the case is what swayed me to choose Ramsell over all others, I choice I am tremendously glad they persuaded me to make. The Ramsell team quickly obtained the arrest footage, and Jason had obviously thoroughly reviewed it before we next spoke, and I was given access to go and watch it myself.
The next step was fighting the Summary Suspension, and due to the prosecutor being granted a continuance, I was in court twice and able to see approximately eight other cases, and NONE that I witnessed were overturned, leading me to think that fighting these is hopeless……until my own case was called. Jason expertly argued my case, and my suspension was rescinded. I can’t imagine how much additional stress losing my license would have been. I wasn’t the only one amazed; I was later approached by another defendant in the hall, who had also seen multiple cases tried and none successfully overturned, and his attorney hadn’t even obtained the arrest video. Going into that situation without having seen the video would be insane, he immediately took Ramsell’s contact info from me, I sincerely hope he used it.
Getting the Suspension rescinded was HUGE, but in reality, it seemed like the least of my problems with the criminal charges still unresolved. I probably had about 100 questions I needed to email or call about, a lot of times I think I just needed to be re-assured in the strength of the case, and Jason was ALWAYS RELIABLE and would respond in an extremely timely manner. You don’t know how important that contact/customer service is until you need it. This excellent level of service began during the consultation phase, and continued for the SEVEN MONTHS the case lasted.
Finally, the big day arrived, and Jason was, again, absolutely masterful. Going into it, he appeared to be prepared for anything, whatever the outcome, but he never let his confidence fail him. His cross examination was fierce, and in particular, his knowledge of the NHSTA rules made everyone else appear an amateur. Ramsell’s website mentions this specialty of Mr. Kunowski, butI had no idea the importance and impact it makes. Each time the prosecution tried getting clever Jason was there to shut that down. The performance was so stunning, that when concluding, as my case was DISMISSED, even the Judge complimented Jason’s work. It probably sounds like that’s an exaggeration, I swear it is not. Even the Expired Registration ticket that began the whole mess somehow got dismissed, and I still don’t fully understand how; honestly, in light of my other issues I’d forgotten about that ticket entirely.
So, to conclude, what did I get when I selected Ramsell & Assoc? I received the MOST FAVORABLE OUTCOME POSSIBLE in court, brilliantly represented by Jason Kunowski. I was treated with phenomenal customer service, courtesy, and respect by the entire staff at all times. The situation I was in was awful, and the only thing that helped me get any sleep was having this team at my back. I simply cannot recommend them strongly enough.
The customer service given by the secretary staff is awful. I understand that everyone has bad days and I am thankful that they are not the ones representing me in court.

Dealing with a DUI case is something I would never wish upon anyone, but every day that I showed up to court I had the confidence that things would be resolved thanks to Ramsell & Associates. They care about my well-being from start to finish and beyond.
My rating: 5/5 (4/5 experience because of the secretaries, they were pretty brutal to deal with, ngl. HOWEVER, plus one star for following through with one of my capricious requests.)
Over many years now, I have referred clients, friends and family to Don Ramsell and have NEVER been disappointed. He has handled all of the cases with great knowledge and skill and accomplished results so good I wouldn't have expected them to be possible.
If you need a great criminal attorney, especially for a DUI, don't call anyone else.
