I recently had a very sticky situation. I had planned a family trip to the Caymen Islands and needed to get my passport renewed at the last minute. No problem, right? Wrong. When I went to pick it up, they handed me a letter of denial instead. Apparently, I owed back child support. That was on a Friday. The following Monday (we were leaving in five days), I scrambled to find an attorney that could sort this all out and get the denial lifted and release my passport. I called six different attorneys.
