I called Joan for a consultation. Since I had a commercial lease, she said she could not help me. I liked her, so when I had issues with my next landlord and I had a residential lease, I called. A message was taken, and I was assured a return call within 24 hours. When I didn't hear back within 48, I called and left a voice mail. It's now been a week and no return call.

I had an issue with my landlord. He was unable to resolve some code violations with my rental. I tried to be fair and work with him over 4 months. He did little or nothing to correct the problems. I recently had a situation with the new owners of the building who tried to have me evicted from an apartment I had been in for 27+ years. The new owners did not inform me that they had taken over, did not give me timely notice that they had hired contractors to do major work, contractors then did poor work and left a mess which landlord did not clean up, had contactors that came at 6:30am and left sometimes at midnight, had people that damaged my property and left many things in my apt in disrepair, etc. Needless to say, I complained to the owners and contractors. Then in retaliation the owners served me with an eviction notice.
