Closing went fine. Little pricey but fine. At the closing table Scott said if there's anything that wasn't disclosed like water in the basement etc I'm your guy that's why you're paying 1500$ . He also gave us a check that was part of closing costs that was made out to the school district and said they'll send us the bill and we just have to go pay it. So we call him about a tub leaking into our bedroom which the realtor told us again and again it was an old leak, the water in the basement, the tabs broken off every window so they can't be opened without falling out, the window that leaks when it rains hard. We were told that because we waived the inspection nothing could be done. Scott knew this at closing. Then it gets to me end of November and I'm realizing I never got any school taxes and I think they're due this time of year. So I call the school...they have the previous owners names still. Call the town and county they have my name. I'm told the taxes will be put on the town and county bill and there will be a 7% penalty now. I call Scott and he says he never told me or or my husband that we would get it in the mail. He said we would have to go pick it up. My husband and I both remember what was said. He proceeded to also be rude on the phone to us both. So basically we paid his retainer fee to use him one time. Lesson learned. never use the banks attorney.
