Jennifer Laviano is the best special education lawyer you can get, hands down. She is an expert at the games school districts play and will go toe-to-toe with their lawyers to get your child what they need. She handled a very tricky, very emotional case for us and not only got our child a school placement that changed his life, she went back a few years later and KEPT him at that life-changing school when the district tried to drag him away. We were told from other experts we would NEVER get or keep our child at this particular school. Jennifer Laviano did that. She was (and remains) a fearless advocate for our family. Yes, I am writing a review of my own office in response to a recent very negative, and very inaccurate, review by a former client. I realize that I can't be objective about my own office, but that review not only said negative things about me, but about my staff, who are some of the hardest working, compassionate, wonderful people one could ever be blessed to employ. Google makes it nearly impossible to respond to a review directly, so let me just say this: in order to have a successful experience with any law office, as a client one needs to a) follow the advice of the lawyer, b) not ask the lawyer to pursue aims which are either unwise or unethical, c) not send emails to the lawyer, the opposing side, and expert witnesses at all hours of the day and night which are incoherent and generally call into question your credibility, and d) not change your mind about the primary goal of the representation after your lawyer has already filed papers to achieve what you wanted. We have proudly represented the interests of thousands of children with disabilities in Connecticut for going on 24 years, and will continue to do so as we fight for the Civil Right of every student to receive a quality education.

Horrible, stay away. NEVER again. You be glad to get whats left of your deposit back. Over billing and nothing was done. Office was either closed or "out sick" and when you got someone - no one knew what was going on. Poor communication, horrible sensitivity to issues or child. My advice, move to someone else before you sign anything - were trying to get our Retainer Back now. There are FAR better attorneys out there.If there was no stars, this office would get it. Once I fired her, she started to respond - and billed for it! LITTLE LATE!
