I was recently a defendant in a civil lawsuit which lasted for a total of three years. I say total because the plaintiff and his attorney dropped their original suit after two years and then refiled a second suit within days. I was out of money after a two year defense with an major law firm in New London CT and they saw this as the perfect opportunity and time to let me go, suggesting I seek other representation. Facing a new lawsuit and without an attorney I thankfully found Peter Bartinik of The Bartinik Law Firm. Our first conversation was by phone and he had many questions. He also knew I had no savings left as this was the very first thing I told him. Our second conversation took place at his office and took about two hours spent discussing my case and a plan to move forward. I was grateful that he took me on even knowing I could not immediately pay him more than a small retainer. This lawsuit at times could be very confusing as well as emotional for me and Peter would always take the time to be sure I completely understood what was happening with my case as well as to keep me emotionally grounded. If I called him with a question or concern and he couldn't at that moment take my call he would get back to me in no time at all.
