Avoid the bait and switch!!! First off, dont let the commercials lead you to believe that you are actually going to get an experienced attorney at an established law firm. After getting a slick telephone consult with 2 attorneys and giving a retainer, I expected to go to a professional law office only to find that their offices are a Regus shared rental office space. I did not get the man on the commercial, or the franchisee "Phyllis" . What I got was what I came to find out was a very inexperienced attorney. Oh, yes, Cordell & Cordell keep you informed just like they claim in the commercials, the part they dont mention is that they they bill you for every second of that imposed communication whether you want it or not and rack up hours and cost you money at a rate like I could not imagine.. Then, when it came to going to court, the process, my options and the implications of each option were not adequately explained or advised. In my case, this resulted in my being steered into an oppressive agreement that has been a financial and emotional disaster. I spoke with other attorneys who have stated that the level of incompetence borders on malpractice. I fired this attorney and now I am fighting to undo the results of the horrendous advice I was given by this firm.
