Legal Aid is chartered to work clients with regular incomes under 150% of the Federal Poverty level while considering family size, debts and monthly living expenses. There are some programs that allow a bit higher earnings. It's best to contact them by phone from 8:30am-4:30pm rather than dropping in. Cases are staffed according to strict criteria set by the Legal Services Corporation (LSC), an independent nonprofit established and funded by the US Congress.
