Crosby law firm took my money and didn't even put in an appearance or show up to court to represent me. I was confused and embarrassed when the judge told them they could not be in the court room because they never put in an appearance on my behalf so technically, they were never my lawyers. I had to swear an oath and talk to the opposing lawyer without representation because of Crosby law firm actions. The judge even changed my court date so Crosby law firm could have time to put in an appearance as my lawyer and they still didn't do it. They make promises that they can't keep and they prey on the emotions of their potential clients. One of my worst mistakes and biggest regrets was hiring this law firm. They breached the contract between us and won't even answer my emails or calls when I wanted a refund. I work very hard for my money and noone should have it stolen from them the way Michael Crosby and Dave Hugdahl has taken advantage of me and my family. It's been very stressful and difficult trying to get them to cooperate or even respond to my emails and phone calls. They should be banned from ever having the opportunity to represent someone in another courtroom. Their license needs to be taken and they should be brought up on criminal charges. I'm currently still in the process of getting a refund from the Crosby law firm. Please avoid them at all costs.

This is just a big thank you message. You have been a great help and no matter what happens I want you to know I am telling everyone about you. I know many people and have a great reputation. Your team has been the best and has worked with me with great success. I am not sure why we met or why you where the perfect match for my case. I know them by reputation, which is very good.. Free consult was helpful, Mr. Crosby is definitely very knowledgable. No pressure to buy services. We were treated with courtesy and respect. Do not waste your time. If you had a good experience then it was luck of the draw. They made my situation worse and most of all my son’s situation. That firm went thru three paralegals in a year and a half. When I left they were on their fourth and every one of them were better than the attorneys. I went to them because of a benefit we have they my spouses employer. I feel this firm is a scam.

I’ve never needed legal services up until recently, to which I turned to Crosby Law Firm. The result of this was a judge ruling in my favor, saving me approximately $12,000. Due to the diligence of the staff, I was able to go through paperwork and a trial with ease. Answering all of my questions and concerns, I was comfortable throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend this Law Firm for whatever needs you may have.

The Crosby Law Firm helped me with seeking an emergency Order of Protection. After three weeks, we went to trial to get the OP granted for an additional two years. The attorney who handled my case fought passionately and won the argument in which the Judge granted the OP for an additional two years! The staff and paralegals were amazing and always answered my questions when I called.

Shocking! How is there reviews reach the 4 stars??! Absolutely 0 star! They charged me $5,500 6 years ago with doing absolutely nothing. I had to dismiss the case only from fearing of being unprotected. Found out later from so many people who claim they literally did the same thing to them. You guys should be close by law. Monsters!!!

Worst experience ever. I would give zero stars if allowed. Mr. Crosby took my money and did NOTHING to help my business law suit. He is dishonest and appears not to have a conscience. I urge you to go to another firm. I whole heartedly believe he should be disbarred.

If I could give this place less than one star, I would. This place is a joke. I worked for them a VERY short time due to the fact of how unprofessional their organization truly was. I have over 20 years being employed in the legal field. I made the mistake of having them represent my friend during his divorce, for FREE, mind you, they are not even worth FREE. Most of these reviews on google are from people who actually work at this law firm. Check ARDC before you even step foot into this place. Everything that this firm has been accused in the past, still happens to this day. I sent one other person to this law firm, Mr. Crosby asked for $2500 as a retainer the same day as consultation. My friend paid the $2500 retainer. My friend had another appointment with the attorney that was actually going to do the work for him and this attorney said there was nothing he could do for him. That meeting lasted 15 minutes or less. It took the firm over 45 days to return my friend's $2,000. That's right NOT $2,500 but only $2,000 BECAUSE they said that was what they were due after my friend's 15 minute second consultation. BE WARNED. They will also withdraw from representing you less than 30 days before trial, because this firm is LAZY and won't hardly do anything for their clients.

I waited almost an hour after my "appointment" to speak with an attorney and I finally got tired of waiting and left. The staff didn't even have the decency to let me know they were backed up or running late. They showed lack of respect and consideration for my time and probably didn't even notice or cared that I left. So I took my business and money elsewhere.

Mr. Crosby took the time to discuss my concerns and provide me with the options for moving forward. Even though I didn’t have an actionable case, he followed up on my progress and showed genuine concern. I would recommend Crosby Law Firm to my friends and associates in need of legal representation.

Be prepared to be manipulated, do not pay all, see if they do what they say with less before you proceed; they say ‘promise and I will do this and I will do that’ and do little to nothing was my experience. Whatever you do; do not leave your records. If you do, make certain they get a copy, or you write them down take pictures what they have, and they sign they will relinquish the records without hesitation. I now know why they wanted them; certainly it was not to be prepared or to negotiate or even read them, but to keep them hostage to try to manipulate more money or trying second stage of their manipulation; Run from this Law Firm there are others.

Waste of time and money. 3 appts (not free) to answer same questions and go over same information and charged for searching info that I provided..... other missteps that caused more problems.... overall very inept in my case.

My experience with Crosby 3 years ago was horrific. From continuous cancelled appointments, to me making my own revisions to my JPA and MSA, to a lawyer who didn't listen and was WELL overpaid, to not filing correct paperwork during my child custody case that I had to go back to court ON MY OWN to take care of, I had a horrible experience during one of the worst times in my life... a divorce. When I was emotionally distraught, Crosby Law Firm took advantage of me. I would never recommend this experience to anyone!

Worst experience ever! I was given their info because they were in my network. 1st appointment started with a cheesy advertisement on the TV in their lobby (which they turned on after I sat down). I was stuck there for 3 hours before they started even speaking with me (which took only 10 mins). On the second visit they told me my cost from them would be $2700 for defending my careless driving traffic ticket and would take several court appearances. Max fine was listed as $2500 - so total potential cost could have been $5200. They were more like salesmen then lawyers. The atmosphere felt very shady so I walked out after the second visit. I went to my car and called a different lawyer. After only 1 court appearance I took a $250 fine. I was still charged by American Law Firm for 4 hours of work when they never ultimately took my case because I walked out before they could. Sad thing is, they also consider themselves a Christian business - clearly for publicity only! Talked to a couple of different people and they had much worse experiences from them. Very shady and awful, BEWARE!

Very easy law firm to deal with and they explain everything.

They are a total rip off. At consultation they will tell you what ever they can to get you to sign on the dotted line. I asked for a couple days to think about it but the "great deal" was only good for that day. I was allowed two court appearances, which the first was to let the courts know I had representation. 2nd my lawyer was not prepared. The third would have cost me more money. He never contacted my ex husbands lawyer for anything, we meet in the hallway of the courthouse. They are lawyers, have their contracts down to a tee, (I tried to get my money back)and are just greedy, and lazy.
I didn't have a "big" case, but they knew from the start I didn't have a lot of money, and promised me the moon. Oh and by the way, their cost was double what my ex paid for 2 years of service, where mine was 4 months. If I could I would give them a negative 5 star, but had to atleast put one to get this to post.

These people are crooks! Totally made me promises that never kept.... said "we can get your case done in 3 court cases or less" NOT!!!! & this was a simple divorce case that they freaking milked out for over 6 months & many, many court cases!!! I think even some of the paralegals felt bad cause I was getting screwed! I wish the they represented me instead!!! I even did all the leg work, made copies , & when we went to court they did nothing , said nothing to help my case what so ever!!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!

I suggest that the reader of this review seriously consider what I write here before deciding whether to give them your very important case or your money.

For the record, I am 55 years old and I have suffered from Bi-Polar Depression all my life. 2016 was quite literally the worse year of my life. The death of my mother under questionable circumstances was one of the many issues I was dealing with.

I include my name because I do not hide behind pseudonyms - especially when writing a very negative review. I stand behind everything I say ALWAYS. I am not a liar or a coward. And I feel no shame for suffering an illness such as Bi-Polar Depression. Nor should anyone feel shame for suffering depression. There is an awful lot in this world to be depressed about.

As Follows:

Mr. Crosby,

After giving the matter much thought, deeply considering the facts and events to the best of my ability, I find no other sound outcome other than to demand a refund of $9,000.00 for taking advantage of my state of mind at the time I agreed to hire the Crosby Law Firm.

The fact of the matter is this: As you very well know I came into your office the day after I was released from the Swedish American Hospital mental health ward after I was detained for trying to end my life only a few days earlier. This was the second stay at the Swedish American mental ward in two (2) weeks.

I was CLEARLY not in a rational frame of mind at the signing of any of these contracts. And I came into your office that first day for ONE (1) reason if you remember and are in least honest.

It all would not had been so bad if I had not been treated - essentially by you, Mr. Crosby - so incredibly poorly at essentially each and every step of this so-called "process" of being represented by the Crosby Law Firm. Given the right opportunity, I can easily cite a large number of various incidents that support my accusation.

I will mention though, with extreme resentment every time I recall this event, how you treated me, what you said to me, that one Friday when I came into the office in probably the worst frame of mind I had been in since this nightmare began (other than the frame of mind I was in when I was literally planning to take my own life) thinking that someone had impersonated me in my deceased mother's toxicology report to the Kane County over the phone. The Kane County Coroner listed the communications he had had with Sandra J. Malloy's "children." And it seemed to me, if you remember, that someone had impersonated me at xxxxxxxx phone number. This thought further troubled me to a TREMENDOUS extent.

Furthermore, you never gave me back my recently deceased mother's toxicology report, even though I had requested that you do. Please return this to me too.

And on this day, this particular Friday, you coerced me to sign ANOTHER $2,800.00 contract. In my "right" mind I would have continued the course without representation from the Crosby Law Firm ESPECIALLY since the repeated "flat rate" had "fine print" I was not in the proper frame of mind to comprehend and understand at the time.

When I finally felt the NEED - in my mental anguish - to literally raise my voice at you to get your attention to ask a single damned question as you were taking ANOTHER $2,800.00 from me, do you remember your response? I certainly do.

You said the following, virtually verbatim: "Look at how I'm dressed! I'm not even supposed to be here."

No kidding, you actually said that on that day, under those specific circumstances.

I'll give you ten (10) business day for your response. And please respond in writing. No phone calls. Your firm never returned my telephone calls in the past when I requested it, so we now will stick to hardcopy for record sake.
