I'm writing this review as the person whose ex hired Erica Gittings and Heidi Nepscha to represent him. Overall, if you want to hire an attorney who is known for being unnecessarily aggressively in the legal field, then this is the firm for you. If not, then keep searching for a better fit.

They are prone to mistakes. The very first email I received from Gittings listed incorrect dates that didn't exist. I had to call her just to clarify what date she was meaning to convey in her communication (costing their client more). Gittings and Nepscha also offered to draft the martial settlement agreement. Fortunately for me, their lack of attention to detail meant that they forget to include the dollar amount that was owed to my ex for our property settlement (costing their client more in lost money paid to him). Lastly, Nepscha was scolded by the judge in front of me and her client because she submitted a response to me by e-filing. The judge asked her if I was an e-filer. She stuttered and stammered that she assumed I was. The judge said a simple check in CCAP would inform you that I am not in fact an e-filer, which means I never received her response. I can only imagine how much she billed her client for drafting all of those documents and filing them with the court, all under the incorrect assumption that I was an e-filer. Yet again, mistakes that her client ended up paying for.

Being on the other side, I was glad my ex hired Cordell & Cordell. However if you want a professional that is not prone to making costly mistakes, my suggestion would be to look elsewhere for an attorney.

As a client of your Madison, WI office, I was very happy with the services I received there. Heidi was great and I would recommend her to anyone, particularly military members or veterans, needing legal services in a divorce in the State of Wisconsin. I am very grateful for the strong advocacy I received from both her and the firm.

Without question, the best lawyer I've ever worked with. Their customer service is amazing and they even will call you to ensure you are satisfied. I felt like she was advocating for me all the time and that I had a fighter on my side.

I am so lucky that I had Elisabeth by my side during all this mess. I am still shocked about the outcome. I really thought my ex was going to succeed in keeping me from my children. Elisabeth helped me gain my confidence and esteem back with her negotiating She somehow she waved a magic wand, and my ex and I are friendly to each other, we are successful in co parenting. I really thought we were going to head into a trial. The firm is also very communicative. Highly recommend this firm. Even if you are a mother, they are still incredible.

We had an unbelievably horrible experience. Our attorney, Heidi, did not file the paperwork that needed to be submitted to the court before our case, a costly mistake for us, as the other attorney objected and so the main reason we went to court, could not even be address. She was unprepared, we had to resubmit paperwork numerous times, as they were disorganized. We paid over $8000 and in the end, the representation was subpar at best. Our attorney did not do her job. If you are looking for a law firm my suggestion is to pass on Cordell & Cordell. You can find better representation with a smaller firm.

Just FYI, when customer service called us, to inquire about our experience, we were told that although they wouldn’t be able to do anything with our bill, they appreciated our feedback. Honestly, the mistakes made in court will cost us greatly...a small discount on our bill can’t fix that!

Heidi Nepscha form Cordell and Cordell is an amazing attorney. She is extremely intelligent, thoughtful, and dedicated. I have never had an issue that she did not address. She has exceeded my expectations and been very upfront. She has been very upfront regarding costs and even when my legal matter took a turn from very straightforward to much more complex she has stuck by me and rolled with the punches and been a huge source of guidance and wisdom along the way. I have had no issue getting in touch with her. She is awesome at telling me if she is going to be out of the office or unavailable for a time. I have met with three other members at this law firm as well and all of the staff are nothing but courteous and respectful. Chelsea at the front desk was absolutely fantastic when I was trying to get started with an attorney. Brad Schweiger, one of the senior attorney, made a very good first impression for the law firm. Anne Scipior has does various reviews of my case and has injected guidance and wisdom when neccesary. Working with Erica Gittings and the Cordell Cordell team has always been an excellent experience. As a small business owner, my income fluctuates every year and having Erica & Cordell Cordell available to me to assist with my child support questions and amendments is extremely beneficial to me. She is resourceful, accurate, and very knowledgeable. I have never felt I needed another opinion after my annual discussions with Erica.

Delays, delays and more delays. All just to bill (billable hours are a big thing with this firm.) Was able to negotiate and get to court in a timely manner WITHOUT their help. Unprepared, unprofessional. The 1st attorney was great, the 2nd not so much......clasic bait and switch

I started searching for a new attorney about 2 1/2 years ago when I first met with Erica. The area where I live in the state lacks good quality attorneys like her. From the very first time I sat down with her to discuss options for my unraveling situation she has been top notch and everything a client should expect from their attorney. Her follow up is absolutely unmatched, she will never let you end your day with a hanging question you need help with. Erica is a young attorney with I am sure a very a long promising career ahead of her in the tough field of family law and I will refer anyone with a like situation to mine to her in a second. I think we are nearing the end of my case and hopefully I wont need her services again for some time but I plan to find her again so long as she is licensed in the state of Wisconsin.

She told me up front what I needed to hear, not what I wanted to hear. I received timely updates and she settled my case fairly while fighting for me every step of the way. Attorney Erica Gittings has continually exceeded my expectations.
