I have used this law firm since it's inception. Mr. Fitzgerald is very knowledgeable and intelligent, excellent listener and communicates in a manner that is easily understood. Each time I have retained this firm's services, I obtained the desired resolution. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone seeking legal representation.

The fact that I wasn't even able to hire Fitzgerald because HE WON'T RETURN MY CALLS says enough in itself. I had a "consultation" with him on the phone regarding my case and he told me to call him back once the papers were filed so we could proceed with what to do then. I even told him I wanted to retain his services and after 3 phone calls to his office now with no return call. I REFUSE to do business with him or his firm! I would be better off representing myself!!! I was even told by his secretary "I don't know why he hasn't returned your call, I will give him the message and make sure he calls you." It's now been yet another week since I spoke with his secretary and no return phone call from him!!! I shouldn't be surprised by all of the negative reviews! What a joke!!! Thanks for nothing Fitzgerald!!!!

I am so fortunate to have had Lane Fitzgerald represent me on my case . I was with another attorney from another law firm (Glenn Avenna) who was most likely having brunch with the DA, seems like. So l fired the Butterball , and was represented by Lane ....smart choice. Lane knew exactly what to do , whenever he spoke in court on my behalf , the DA ....even was mind boggled . If l did not make this move of attorneys, things might have been way worse.....I have to tell you all I've never had an attorney as determined to speak with such GREAT choices of words. I was even stunned. He studied my case and went the whole 9 yards ....and then some . $$$ Well worth it. Thank you so very much Lane Fitzgerald !!!!

Originally told we had until our 1st court date to pay retainer. Turns out thats not the case. They want the retainer upfront of They wont do a thing. Understandable but would have been nice to know. We ended up going to court on our own. Informed the judge that we were told to go alone and ask for an extension. The judge said "what kind of attorney advises that?"

We knew right away something was off. We switched to another attorney in town and upon speaking to the paralegal she instantly guessed who our previous attempt was, Apparently Fitgerald law form has a history of misleading or "mispeaking" about their policies.

I highly recommend you find someone else.

This place is not a good place to hire an attorney they rip you off the attorney i hired up and left he said i had a done deal case he left the firm and the other attorney wanted more money when i had already paid over 4 thousand dallors even thete secatary up and left what is wrong with these firms they realy know how to try to get money out of you for those who let them i recommend you get 2nd opinions on attorneys before you hire one check out there back ground and how many attorneys work with them and how many quit there firms. And talk money up front before they work on your case because they will rip you off and then you have to hire another attorney pay more money to win your case please i ask everyone out there looking for attorneys this place is not a good place in my eyes they realy did a job on me they hired another attorney and tried to give him my case he was talking about how it works in Illinois well those laws are diffrent there from Wisconsin for one and he realy didn't know what he was doing the attorney i had knew what he was doing i don't know why he left and and left my case to someone who doesn't know Wisconsin law's

They agree to things with the courts you don't, send attornies you didn't hire and mess up your court cases that cost you money and then threaten to drop you because your not happy with it.

Just read the owner reply to reviews, and I quote: "Represented you specifically as requested" Good attorneys don't have to put the blame for failure on the client, and justify every bad review with it being a bad client giving them bad requests. He even put, "represented you as requested" on a review for someone who was not a client, just a guy trying to retain their service and never got a call back from the consultation. This attorney is a crook, flush your money down the toilet it would be better spent.

You should only hire the Fitzgerald Law Firm if you don't care about your money, or winning your case.

Stay away from this law firm. You would be better off with a public defender.. which says a lot. My sister contracted with them, and they are very disorganized and unethical. They never filed motions in a timely manner like they were requested to, they missed court appearances, they showed up an hour and a half late the one time they did show up, they did not know about court appearances without our mother calling them to tell them of it, and then they had the audacity to charge for the phone call where she informed them of something they were supposed to know but did not. She also contracted with and was being represented by Lane but some new attorney she had never met and who was just hired by the firm showed up to represent her without knowing anything about the case. After my sister fired them for ineffective council, they kept the entire retainer and sent her a bill for even more money. Read the fine print on your contract, they will charge you for every type of contact with them like a corporate attorney and eat up a $2,000 retainer without ever putting in any real work. Your retainer will go entirely towards travel time and phone conversations with the secretary.

Update 4-5-18, It's clear that there were several problems with my case, but as you can see with the way this company responds, they are clearly not willing to own up to any faults and are not open to resolving client concerns. I just want prospective clients to be careful before engaging with this business. If the company would like me to walk them through the detailed issues they caused in order to understand how to improve their business, they can feel free to contact me.

I had a terrible experience with this law firm. I reached out to this firm to settle a land contract dispute with someone who was not paying their mortgage. Sadly, due to a lack of knowledge, my attorney prepared a case which was not within my legal rights under Wisconsin law.
To make matter worse, the law office lacked basic communication, which caused the matter to drag out for months. To name a few issues, they did not contact me when the retainer ran out, nor did they contact me when they needed a court filing fee. Instead, they would stop working on the case until I reached out to them inquiring about progress.
After paying to take the case to court, it was immediately thrown out by the judge. In the end I was left without resolution in the case and a request for a much larger retainer to continue legal representation. After being out $1500 in representation costs, fees, a flight and hotel, and months without pay from the land contract, I cannot recommend this law firm.

I went to several law firms to discuss a criminal case I was charged in. Almost all of the attorneys I spoke with made it sound hopeless however after going to this law firm and speaking with Lane Fitzgerald he promised me that he could get my charges dismissed. The McCarthy law firm was the one that said I might have a chance but he didn't seem very confident. Lane Fitzgerald's fees were half the price as McCarthy's. So I retained him in my criminal matter. The district attorney would not come off of a plea deal which included jail time and I was not going to sit jail time for a crime I did not commit. We ended up going to trial and attorney Fitzgerald owned that court room. He made the district attorney look like a complete fool. My charges were thrown out as I was proven innocent. the charge was disorderly conduct which by Wisconsin state statute is basically impossible to beat. Lane Fitzgerald did The impossible. He was worth every penny

My husband has been a client with this firm since 2014. I will admit communication has improved tremendously and looks like they are going through a great change. Attorney Fitzgerald and his firm is by far the best attorney my husband could have had by his side for his child custody battle. They are honest with what to expect and there is no false hope. Hopefully we no longer have to return to court after these past 2 months, but Fitzgerald is and will always be our first call.

I don't have the words for how lane Fitzgerald handled my case. The perfect result. All charges dropped and in a very timely manner. The corruption in the town of beloit police department was no match for this firm. Thankyou lane for protecting me and my daughter. I couldn't thank you enough.

The attorneys at this firm got me awesome results for my case. Fitzgerald charged me a lower price than other firms in the area quoted, worked with me on a payment plan, and was very open and honest from the beginning. Very satisfied and highly recommend!

Sounded promising, then did not return phone calls or communicate well.

I paid the fees for getting my record expunged (trying to get into nursing school and a 9 year old charge is holding me back from getting in) in May. I was told that fitzgerald had to "find out" if my charge could even get expunged and then if it could, i would pay more money and he would get it dropped. It is december 22 and i still have yet to hear if my charge is even allowed to be expunged. I have called multiple, multiple, multiple times just to hear "we will have fitzgerald call you back". Most of the time i just never got a return call or when i did it was the secretary telling me the attorney didnt know anything yet. Im supposed to apply to nursing school again by valentines day and my record is still not taken care of. An attorney that takes your money and doesnt give any results in 7 months. Pathetic. Already contacted the bar association and filed compaints with his office. No results even after all that!

Called and asked for a call back from the lawyer 4 times and he never did. Do not use this law firm!

Joke of a law firm. Beware of Lane Fitzgerald. This firm is not experienced enough to handle complex drivers license cases.

I wouldn’t recommend this law firm to anyone. I was told several time that I would receive a phone call, and never did. I decided to call back and was told by secretary in a rude way that they are busy and go find another attorney. I tried explaining to her that I called several times and was informed that I would receive a call back but never did. She said again go find another attorney. Wow I was in disbelief that a person working in a professional atmosphere could be so rude. She was not understanding at all. Don’t waste your time with this law firm.

I wouldn't recommend this law firm to anyone. He practically guaranteed me I would win in the beginning but took my money and didn't do anything to help my case. I fired this firm shortly after my first court appearance and it took 6 months to see an invoice only to find that they charged me for work on my case after the date of my terminating their service. There for eating up the entire retainer. They are nothing short of a legal thief. Again BE AWARE. I ONLY GAVE THIS FIRM 1 STAR BUT IT DOESN'T DESERVE ANY STARTS.

I called this law firm to handle my citation and license issues. Tina and another gal on different days advised me they will call me back that afternoon after speaking with the attorney. Never happened.

Even then I called back 2 days later to give this firm another chance and setup a 15 minute consultation. Well once again, no calls were received at the appointment time.

I would not recommend this law firm to anyone. Fitzgerald was consistently unprepared, failed to notify me of necessary court appearances, and conceded everything to my x-wife's attorney. He talked a big game at the beginning, but in the end he was not able to do anything proficiently besides lose. I give him one star because it is required in order to post, otherwise I would not give any.
