I never thought I’d speak so highly of an attorney(s) and their office. Divorce is a difficult process and Karen & John and their staff are just outstanding. Communication and candor are second to none. Each person who answered the phone was seemingly up to date with my case on an almost personal level. I can’t express how highly I recommend their services.

If I had a NEGATIVE rating for this law Firm, I would happily do that. Karen and John are the most unethical, greedy and just out for money. They do not have the best interest or ANY INTEREST of the client.

Let me start with the nice cup of coffee they serve you on your first visit and then everything goes downhill. Most unprofessional attorneys who will scare you for money. I had the worst experience of my life with Karen. I filed for divorce with this firm and 6 months into filing divorce all she did was ASK FOR money. She will not give you any advice, it was like the opponent attorney is running the show. Every time I would ask her "Karen I think this is unfair what the opponent attorney is saying, she will scare and pressurize me to go with what the other attorney wanted and not fight for me. At one point when I told her that I was facing an abusive situation over and over and to talk to the opponent attorney she simply told me - "Don't you have another room to go sleep?" As my attorney it was not my safety that she was concerned, she wanted 2000 dollars upfront to go with me to file Order of Protection, after I had already given her close to 10K. I felt helpless and pressurized from her, because time and again she would scare me by telling me that she would withdraw from my case if I didn't pay her. She and John left SO MANY LOOPHOLES in my MSA that my new attorney had to fix.

And last BUT NOT THE LEAST- I had some balance left with this firm that I went last week to make a payment plan on. I was told by their paralegal, that it was ok to make a payment every month and that Karen or John or someone from office will contact me to sign paperwork for payment plan. I waited 1 week and finally emailed, called as to what was going on..GUESS WHAT?? Again Karen pressurized me telling me that she wants money upfront otherwise no payment plan and she will drag me to the court. Taking me to court for what??? I didn't even refuse to pay. I went myself to their office to make a payment plan.A BIG GREEDY LIAR, PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM LAVIN AND PARISI LAW.

If I could give zero stars I would. I did not hire her as my lawyer but she was on the defense side and filed false documents on a probate case that was already hard enough. She dragged us through court and racked up court costs and attorneys fees. She is so unethical and lies just to make a buck. After losing my dad was hard enough and his girlfriend went to 5 other attorneys that said to walk away he didn't have a will so it all falls to me and Karen took it on. She at one point made an appointment to come get property and then when my fiance showed up came out swearing and pushed him out the door. It was like we were set up just to have her start a fight! She is unethical and immoral. I would not ever use her and hope NO ONE ever does! Disgusting professional and person that does not care about you or the family she is up against. SHAME ON YOU KAREN AND YOUR FIRM.

My opinions were valued and he was always able to reassure me of any doubts and concerns with the legal process. He was always available and went above and beyond the lawyer/client relationship. KAREN WAS A PHENOMINAL LAWYER TO WORK WITH; MY TIME WITH HER STARTED LAST NOVEMBER WHEN I HAD AN EMERGENCY ORDER OF PROTECTION REQUIREMENT AGAINST MY EX HUSBAND. WITHIN MINUTES OF HEARING THE EXPLAINATION, SHE WENT STRAIGHT TO WORK, GETTING ME IN THE VERY NEXT MORNING AND THE OP WAS GRANTED. MY EX AND I SPENT MONTHS GOING BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN CUSTODY, CHILD SUPPORT AND A MIRIADE OF OTHER ISSUES. THROUGH IT ALL, KAREN WAS THERE EVERY STEP OF THE WAY! THERE WAS NEVER A QUESTION TO "SILLY" NOR DID I EVER FEEL AS THOUGH MY CASE WASN'T IMPORTANT. SHE REALLY TOOK CARE OF ME, MY SON AND WAS ABLE TO HELP UP GET EVERYTHING FILED AND APPROVED, JUST AS WE WANTED IT. AS WITH ANYTHING THAT TAKES OVER 8 MONTHS, THERE WERE BUMPS ALONG THE ROAD BUT, KAREN KEPT ME INFORMED AND I FELT LIKE SHE REALLY WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT ANY LAWYER SHOULD HAVE. I WOULD USE HER AGAIN IF THE TIME EVER ARISED!

If I could give her a zero I would. My husband hired her to finish an MSA with his ex wife. She bled us dry and we are still hiring new attorneys to fix the holes she left in his MSA. We spend between 500-1000 dollars a month in "expenses" because she pressured us into signing a vague MSA. In our opinion the worst lawyer we have dealt with out of 5. IMO Does not have the client in mind only but her bottom line income. Karen was not detail oriented and ruined our lives until the children graduate H.S. STAY AWAY

Karen Lavin is an amazing, self determined, hard-working woman. She's always helping others and doing it with a smile on her face. When others lack certainty as to legal matters, Karen is right there to pick up the pieces, and does so with such passion. But don't let her beautiful smile fool you, she is about seriousness when it comes to her clients' well-being and making sure they get the justice they deserve.

Karen has represented me in a child support case, prepared our will and has done our family estate planning. She has given us valuable guidance. She is also a pleasure to work with!
