I met Tom Smith, while attending the University of Detroit Mercy Law School. I feel that Captain Smith upholds that which is fundamental to the way of our identity as Americans. Take care Tom

I was in what I thought to be a hopeless situation when I lost my drivers license after my second DUI when I was 19. After 2 years of not being able to drive, I was finally able to get enough money together to get a lawyer so that I could go in front of the Secretary of State and try to get a restricted license. After a great deal of time and money, that lawyer did not succeed in helping me regain my license. A friend of mine told me about Tom and advised me to talk to him about my situation. Tom came to me (knowing that I could not drive and that it was hard to get around) and he took the time to listen and get to know me as a person. Tom was with me through the entire process as I went in front of the Secretary of State for a second time. With his amazing positivity, compassion, and knowledge of the law, he made me feel confident that I was working with someone that was truly going to help me. He not only helped me succeed in getting my restricted license back, but my full license back a year later as well. Working with Tom, I feel I not only had the privilege of working with the best criminal attorney there is, but have also made an amazing friend. Words can’t express my gratitude for this man and I highly recommend the Smith Law Firm to anyone.

Great attorney. We watched Augustus Hutting with envy. He was the best APA that the Wayne County prosecutor's office ever had. Tom is a good man and given he became a captain in the United States Marine Corps, I can only commend him. Michigan isn't a bad state. At least I don't live in Alaska. Sarah Palin can flirt with Vladimir Putin. Can't believe she became the governor of Alaska. All I can say about Captain Smith is I would love to shake his hand and discuss November 10 1775. Would love to meet Tom's wife.
I had an outstanding warrant and turned myself in with Mr. Smiths direction. He was honest with me and I was with him. The ruling went as well as it possibly could, with the advocacy of Mr. Smith. Tom Smith is great attorney who is well respected and even the judge said "Tom is a good attorney"

We used Smith Law firm and had a very good experience. I have recommended Tom Smith to other people who need legal services. Tom Smith was recommended to us by a lawyer friend who due to our close family relationship thought it would be better to have outside council with our court case. We found Tom to be highly professional, efficient and able to navigate the court system to represent his clients with solid results. Tom is well respected in the local legal community and court system. Aside from being a good lawyer, I think Tom is a quality standup person who truly cares about people, his clients and the rule of law. To me, Tom practices law with a high degree of ethics, morals and personal accountability.

Mr. Smith is an honorable man and a good Marine. We attended the same Law School together. We both admired Augustus Hutting. The best assistant prosecuting attorney that Wayne Country's ever had. I am also an ex-Marine. I was just a lowly enlisted Marine. Good going Tom! James Shaw

I went to Tom with my problems and my case. He was very quick to take my credit card # and run it through Square. Everything sounded great at first. After he took the $, I felt like I was like an object and not an actual human being. I told Tom what happened in my case. He then spent little to no time on my case. We only spoke 2 or 3 times. At the ending, when it was time to go to sentencing, Tom recommended that I plead guilty even though I knew I wasn't guilty. He recommended not taking the chance of going through a full trial. That would require more time from Tom, even if it was for justice. Tom just wanted to do 1 or 2 court appearances with me, get me to plead guilty as soon as possible and then move onto another client. After all, in Tom's mind, it doesn't matter if I get a fair trial. He still gets to go home. Having more court appearances, won't allow him to get paid more. Tom just wanted to run me through the system like cattle. The more clients he gets and the less he has appear, the more $ he makes. I feel I never got a fair trial. Tom, my lawyer, sided with the defense more than he sided with me. He saw me as guilty and didn't care what I had to say. He made judges and accusations against me that were not true. I feel betrayed, by someone I paid over $3000 to.
