We filed a chapter 13 bankruptcy and we would have been in the plan 3 years in January. My wife lost her job in August and was unable to find employment and hence the 13 got dismissed. We found out it got dismissed last week. This whole thing was supposed to help us but the only ones it helped was the attorney. We were apparently lied to on multiple occasions that our car and mortgage payments were up to date. We found out over the last couple of days that we are 18 months behind on both cars and 5 months behind on our mortgage. If you want an attorney that does not have your best interests in mind choose them. My advice chose an Attorney with more integrity and reverence. We anticipated a few months behind due to the meetings and communications with the attorneys. We have found all of that to be false. The situation they have put us in is despicable. We are in a far worse situation then when we started. We are in terrible danger of loosing our home and cars which the attorneys did not care about. On multiple occasions they spoke to us about foreclosure. We paid 25% of the $40,000 paid into the plan to the attorneys. And they were paying scraps to our mortgage and cars.
