When you are the parent of a child with special needs, you face all sorts of educational, developmental, and socialization issues . . . I never expected though to have to face criminal and legal ones. Alas, that is where I found myself and my 19 year-old Aspergers son, to compound the issue he was facing these charges 16 hours away in Michigan as we live in North Carolina. He had gotten involved with a group online and made a 911 call (because some girl had hurt his online friend who he doesn’t even know his real name) and reported he had done some heinous acts which required an all-out response from first responders to the girl’s house (known as swatting), an action which he was facing a four-year felony sentence. Upon reaching out to the practice, my son and I were assigned Alexandra Giuliani. Let me say you will not find a more intelligent, compassionate, and flexible attorney - from the outset it was like we were with family. Alex was caring, expeditious, and more importantly effective. Not only her, but also Ray who took the time to sit in on our case, and the support cast at the office was always on top of things and greeted you with a smile and a word or two of encouragement. Alex was not only able to get the charge reduced to a misdemeanor, but also worked out first-time offender status for him, so that after a probation period this unfortunate, bad-judgement of my son’s doing will not haunt him for the rest of his life. Unfortunately, even the most cautious drivers can find themselves receiving a speeding ticket - as was the case with me. Alex is wonderful. We hired Ray to help my son fight a Domestic Violence charge, it was his third charge by his wife. There were NEVER any pictures taken by police, NO visible signs of violence to his wife or damage to the home stated in ANY of the POLICE REPORTS! His wife NEVER followed up with any kind of medical report for any of the three charges.
Upon meeting Ray, my son was Scolded for blindly accepting quilt on the first 2 charges because he wanted to keep peace with his then wife. Ray then tells us he will appoint his associate Alex to the case for $5000.00.
Long story short.....Alex recommends a “guilty” plea to keep it out of trial and avoid extra cost because of poor choices my son made as a young man....Choices that NEVER involved violence in any way! We foolishly agreed to Alex”s suggestion!
Now my son has a felony which has affected him from job opportunities to having Shared Custody and Visitation rights to his son. With the new laws in place...A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CHARGE CAN NEVER BE EXPUNGED off a record.
I have talked to many people since, including lawyers that say i was given bad advice, “it should have gone to trial because there was “NO EVIDENCE”
I feel like this Law Firm made absolutely no effort for my son, only out for quick $$$$$

When suddenly I was faced with an order to make an appearance in court for something that I didn't realize would deliver such hard consequences with possible jail time, I reached out and I was referred to Mr. Cassar. I was told initially that I shouldn't have anything to worry about. This misdemeanor charge though kept me from peace as it blindsided me so. Through it all his confidence never waned and he was able to make last minute actions to settle everything with only one trip to court. I was on probation in Oakland County (the strictest county in Michigan) for Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) and within a few months I was arrested for Disorderly Intoxication. I had violated my probation previous to that arrest by lying to the judge about driving when I was not supposed to and I spent 5 days in the Oakland County Jail (Sam was NOT my lawyer at the time) because of some bad advice from a different lawyer. I was seriously looking at 90 days in jail for the probation violation and 30 days would have been a gift. Sam began giving me good advice on the phone before I had even hired him. He approached my case in a caring and compassionate way and he was much more helpful than every other lawyer I had talked to. He sincerely cared about helping me turn my life around and helping me with my sobriety from the beginning.
