Mr. Menders is great at what he does. He has a lot of experience and is personally involved with every case his office is handling. He always strives to find a solution that would benefit everyone without having to get into a needless, costly fight.
Regarding the irrelevant martial arts comments from another review - I am familiar with Mr. Menders' training in martial arts, he is by no means a dangerous man, the form of martial art he is practicing is non-violent

Mr. Menders and Nina are great people to work with! Nina is always willing help answer a quick question and if she needs to find out the answer she gets right back to you. Mr. Menders will tell you like it is and will not steer you in the wrong direction. They are great to work with and i would highly recommend Mr. Menders to anyone!

My experience with the Menders Family Law Firm was nothing but phenomenal. From the moment I walked in there I was greeted by Nina who made me feel at ease by her Pleasant demeanor. When I had my consultation with Robert Menders I was so blown away by his professionalism and telling me what could happen and what couldn't happen and what to expect that I put my deposit down immediately. The day of court I watched an attorney who was very ill prepared and in my opinion did not serve his client right yet eaten up by the judge. When my turn came up my attorney was well-prepared and to make a long story short I was only at that Podium for about 30 seconds before I had my judgement which was a win for me and my lawyer thank you again.

I LOVED EVERY minute with Mr Menders. When I had a hopeless situation he showed me sunshine! He is human and has his flaws but I will tell you what he made me feel like a human being throughout the soul killing process of my divorce. He is knowledgeable and always treated me with respect. He made sure that to this day nearly 5 years later I am still covered when it comes to circumstances of divorce. I recommend him to anyone who asks for a Family Law Attorney!

Robert Menders is a great attorney! I really don't know how to properly put it into words. He took my very difficult situation and made it better. Amazingly, he was able to settle out of court and now everything is just how it should be, I don't think another attorney could have done what he did. He was very communicative, always responsive and most importantly he really fought for me and that's why we were able to settle which was so important to me, I didn't want to have to go to court. I highly recommend anyone who is going through a custody battle to just sit down and talk to him and you will do what I did and hire him. Hiring Robert as my attorney was a great decision!

He has represented my family and I for years and always has prevailed. He keeps our best interests at heart!! He is street smart and law book wise!!! He works with you on fees and cares about what he does!! There is no better lawyer in my book in the detroit metro area!! He has a bumper sticker in his office that says "My lawyer will kick your lawyers ass!"!! This is so true!! He will kick it in court and if need be on the street!!

Robert Menders is unprofessional, unethical and incompetent.

First of all, the idea that he's a karate fanatic makes me believe he's dangerous in the worst way. His internet ads and go-daddy website make it seem like he is a family law firm, it's just him and his small, cluttered office and, on some occasions, a temp secretary. From then on it's a very bad joke. For instance, he promises to return unused fees but after a few weeks of not showing for hearings and/or getting dates and/or times confused and/or missing filing dates and/or anything for which he was paid he begins to shake you down for more fees to undo the damage he has caused. And try to get a hold of him! Oh, he'll have an excuse why he didn't show for court or missed an important filing, etc, very interesting and passionate of course. He uses profanity constantly and derogatory terms to describe other lawyers, judges and referees, even clients, that would get him censured but he believes that he has covered himself by saying he'll lie about you to the judge or ref and threatens to make all kinds of trouble if you mention anything about his conversations. But do you want to know the worst part? Menders just doesn't seem to know the law or legal processes to get things done properly even if he wanted to. Trust me, though, the financial shake down will start very soon after retention. He can pretend to be all high and mighty and knowing and compassionate all he wants, truth is he's a miserable person and an inept lawyer.

Notice how many reviews Robert wrote on Feb. 16. I was so excited when I read the first two reviews written on Feb. 14 and 15. They were the truth. Robert is both a horrible lawyer and person. He sexually harassed me in his office, used offensive language and gestures and mistreated three former assistants in front of me. I literally never heard him say one positive thing about any of his clients or staff.
