I originally was referred to Luke through a friend after speaking with multiple other lawyers in the area that made me feel extremely forced and uneasy going into this process of DWI in Tioga county with BAC of .18. Last year I was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the second degree, a D class felony. To make things worse, I am an Ithaca College student and the incident happened on campus. After hearing positive feedback concerning Luke’s services from friends and reading his numerous positive reviews online, I hired Luke to represent me both with the state and Ithaca College. He charged a reasonable fee and additionally offered to work with me if I didn’t immediately have the funds available.
With regards to Ithaca College, the administration hoped to give me a one-seemster suspension. I could not afford to take a suspension, so I again called upon Luke to represent me in a CRB (conduct review board). During a CRB, my case is reviewed by three IC students and three professors who ultimately determine an appropriate punishment. Luke prepared a huge packet detailing my innocence, and helped compile witnesses and advocates to speak on my behalf. In the end, Luke was able to help me beat the suspension, and I was allowed to stay on campus.
With regards to the state’s charges, the situation became even more precarious as I had a previous charge of a similar nature a few years prior. The prosecutor, hoped to give me a misdemeanor at minimum. I of course, did not want to have a misdemeanor on my record as it could have a serious effect on my future employment. Luke worked with local prosecutors and judges, and I was admitted to the Judicial Diversion program, where I am on track to likely have the felony charge dismissed entirely. Luke is still very attentive and involved with my case, even though I have already entered a plea. He did great work across the board, both with Ithaca College, and the state. He is a great person to have on your side, and I would recommend him to anyone.

Where do I begin? Luc was able to reduce my case to dwai, not even a misdemeanor in no time. He was able to ease my anxiety from the get-go. But what I wasn't prepared for was his performance at court. I knew about his background prior to meeting him and his impressive experience and mastery of his practice truly showed in court. It was as if the courtroom was his "playground" and everyone was just enamored by him. Confident would be an understatement describing him. I hired Luke for a felony in Elmira. The charge was ridiculous but they don't reduce in Elmira. First we got it reduced to a misdemeanor, then Luke and Rob (a former DA who works for Luke) pushed it to trial. They uncovered that the DA had offered the complaining person a deal on another matter - that got turned over but we were still headed to trial. Just before trial the DA offered interim probation supervision with it being dropped after that. Even the Judge said that had never been done in Elmira. The clerk said she had been there for 13 years and it had never happened. Rob and Luke were ready for trial but we didn't need that to get the outcome I wanted. I hired Luke for my felony DWI in Cortland. It was my fifth, and my old lawyer said there was nothing he could do for me even tho I had worked for 25 years and hadn't had a dwi for 30years. If could not imagine a better experience with a lawyer than having Luke represent me for a DWI charge. Being 21, feeling scared, and having no prior criminal history, I didn't know where to turn. A judge assigned Luke Fenchel to be my lawyer when I was charged with an E Felony for Grand Larceny. I was facing a minimum sentence of 1.5-3 years, as I am a predicate felon which comes with automatic prison time when facing a new felony. The DA had no interest in any deals whatsoever.
