Defends controlling/abusive men. Has no regard for children involved in divorce (which has played a part in the psychological damage of a 5yr old). Unethical and unprofessional. She even invited my children over to her home, bought them gifts, and admitted to doing so in court - HUGE conflict of interest and she would not recuse herself. She should not be involved in custody cases.
*assists her clients in using the legal system to further abuse victims. Uses false information and personal connections to achieve outcomes that are unjust. Still pretends to be a “family friend” to the children involved in contentious custody proceedings. Has not refrained from this behavior as she was told to do IN court.

I give Bethany 5 stars for several reasons, the first is she jumped on my husbands case without hesitation. She was very direct during the consultation and answered our questions thoroughly. She handled the case for about 3yrs though the case was ongoing for about 12yrs prior. She also returned our phone calls in a timely manner. She instructed us to collect what she would need. Not only do we as people at times,have to hire an attorney so they can represent us but we as the clientele have to do our homework as well in order to help prep them for court. She was by far informative on what she needed. Bethany is wonderful and at one point I remember setting up an appointment with her just to have her listen and see what it was to be in the shoes of a step parent. To be able to let the tears out and emotion made me realize why the directions Bethany me were vital in the case. I couldn’t be more proud to have an attorney like her. She’s Awesome!!! I never felt the need to write a review or anyone until now. I am going through a difficult time in my life and was caught off guard by my husband wanting a divorce. I called this office to find out more information about legal costs and what I need for a first appointment with this lawyer. a friend of mine told me that she was a good lawyer and had connections to get what she wants in court. My encounter with the receptionist did not leave me with a good first impression. I explained my situation while trying not to cry. the person that answered the phone was so condescending. Unless you are a close friend of this lawyer, you won’t be treated well by her employees. I will find a different lawyer in Amsterdam to handle my divorce.

About 10 months ago we started on a long battle to prove by extraordinary circumstances why I should considered to Be named a parent to two children who are not biologically mine. Bethany knew this was going to be a long hard case Bethany demonstrated such professionalism and compassion to myself and my children and our Families through all of this. On August 29, 2019 the judge rendered his decision and granted us are extraordinary circumstances for me to be a parent thank you Bethany for everything you have done for our family.

Assigned to me as my public defender she did a basic job but did end up giving my ex husband more than he deserved in his manipulating conversation. She really only did the basic stuff. The reason I give her two stars is because she responded quickly when I called to clear up a mistake in the court order after the custody appearance.
I ONLY give two stars because after that I tried to hire her for my support case. I called three times in a matter of a few months to try and hire her and her paralegal took my info, but I still haven't heard back. Now I'm forced to look elsewhere when the next court date is getting terribly close. Would have been nice to at least get a call back to let me know she was too busy or whatever the case may be. Very unprofessional and frustrating in a time when people don't need an extra concern.
