Dan helped me through the process of buying land from start to finish with helpful suggestions from years of experience. He also helped me out with a ticket I got around the same time. I would highly NOT recommend using Dan Chertok as your lawyer. My lawyer that i spoke with while recently buying my house, did not want to take my case (DWAI .07) because she didn't want to take my money, she told me to go in, plead guilty and ask if they could reduce the fines. I Really wanted to go into court with a lawyer, I thought it would help, so i asked her if she could recommend anyone, well, Dan was one of them....Bad choice...that I am severely paying for, as I have put out $2,000 in half of a month (lawyer, DMV, court fines) I received the worst possible sentencing and Maximum fines. As a new homeowner, I had some money saved, that I have worked So hard for, and now ...it's gone. I really have know clue how someone who didn't have some extra money, would have made it through what I am Still going through, still have more payments to make, and on top of that, I am on a "Conditional Discharge" for 1 year !??? What did I even get a lawyer for ? I would have done better with a public defender. Yes, I made a mistake, buy celebrating buying a new house and having 2 beers with a friend (I even waited an hour before driving) But, let me also note......I didn't even get pulled over, I was going through a toll booth, and troopers happened to be there, and my updated registration was not in my window ( was in glove box).....while at court, after Dan told me what he called a "plea" (all it was, was me pleading guilty) he had the nerve to bring up an ex-boyfriend of mine from 15 YEARS AGO, AFTER i signed the so-called "plea" ( I thought a plea, was when you plea a charge down) , this ex doesn't have the best reputation, but has nothing to do with me, and hasn't for a long time, I felt like he was already looking at me as guilty......I, ON MY OWN have accomplished So much in the past few yrs, and don't believe that I deserved this harsh of punishment, I really got screwed on this one. I regret using Dan as my lawyer, and I regret pleading guilty, I regret putting my trust in him, because he was Not Honest with me. :( And if I wasn't such a timid person at times, I would have fired him when he showed me my "plea" ......I am so disappointed...., but..just goes to show..that not everyone out there is honest and trustworthy.

Great job with my case in lake george where I received a few tickets on the 87 south. Managed to get them all dismissed thus saving me from at least 6 points. Thanks much.
