Hired this guy for a family court matter. He never informed me that because my ex dropped his petition I no longer had to send my daughter to visits with her dad (he is emotionally abusive as well as physically). For a year and a half my daughter endures visits with her dad bc Phil was more worried about rushing out the door with my $600 than to explain what happened and how it affected my daughter's visits.

We also hired him to do my husband's divorce that was uncontested. We gave him 5 months notice to complete it (my husband and I had been together for five years when we decided to finalize the divorce from his first wife and get married) and this guy completed my husband's divorce the day before we were to get married! Imagine the panick we were going through. We were getting married June 18, we had to file for our marriage license by end of business day on June 17, Phil got the judge to sign at 1:17pm on June 17. I was losing my mind!

Horrible experiences. And stop meeting clients wearing socks with sandals!

Phil has always been an excellent attorney. He always returns calls at all hrs of the night .he did my divorce.after someone else failed to so it after being paid. He has been used for many things throughout the years . Has helped many of my family members with family court . I'm sorry that people who dont win at everything they hire him for make complaints that can effect people's lives. I feel sorry for Phil because people are the way they are .

This lawyer handled my fiancé's divorce horribly. We had to hire another lawyer because he had the case for almost a year and did nothing he promised. Did not move forward with anything he was supposed to do except accept our money. So a divorce that should have been over by now is still ongoing with that much more money that we have had to pay. Phil Ackerman even refused to sign a consent letter for us to switch attorneys which meant we had to completely start over from scratch. If there was negative stars the review still could not reflect how this lawyer took advantage. Have filed a formal complaint with the grievance committee.

Never returns phone calls, I even asked that if he couldn't help me just let me know, no response
