Benjamin Brooks is a great attorney and I do not know what my family would have done without him. We have hired him for multiple cases over the last few years and not only did he work his magic throughout the cases, but he was a life saver for me personally during the whole experience. Ben was available and at our service every single time we called for him and was amazing representation for us at every single court date. I appreciate him more than he will ever know for always being open, honest, realistic and patient with us during this journey. He never stopped fighting for us no matter what was thrown at him and I will forever be grateful for his services.

I had hired the firm of Good, Schneider and Cormier, Attys at Law after giving my decision substantial thought. Philip Cormier, Esq. and Ben Brooks, Esq. had interviewed me at length when I appeared for a consultation. They both, in my opinion, were well-prepared to handle this case since, it involved a blatant disregard for my Constitutional Rights and an Abuse of Process manufactured by the Boston Police Dept. and the Suffolk County DA's Office.
After meeting with both Mr. Cormier and Mr. Brooks together I decided that I wanted to hire the firm for my representation. Mr.Cormier stated, I would need to give hm $5,000. down and the remaining $5,000. within a two-month time frame. The representation I had agreed upon was a fixed-fee agreement signed by the partners Mr.Cormier and Mr. Brooks. Several months had passed and it didn't seem to me that much was accomplished on my case. It worried me because of the "insincere" promises made by both partners.
First, Mr. Brooks had repeatedly told me he was going to he was going to speak with the ADA in-person regarding obtaining a dismissal of a misdemeanor charge(2 counts) that rightfully should have not been issued against me in the first place.
Mr. Brooks , quite frankly dragged his feet in respect to his promise of meeting with the ADA and convincing her to dismiss the charges because, " the Commonwealth had lacked probable cause to issue the complaint" and also lacked evidence that I committed any crime. Both, Mr. Cormier and Mr. Brooks knew I'm a gravely ill man. But, nevertheless Mr. Brooks was extremely insincere in his promise despite being paid for their legal services.
Another instance, of their lack of care and duty to me was I became ill with a severe respiratory illness. Mr. Brooks, told me that he would file a "Motion to Continue" the next court date which was about two weeks away allowing me to get well. A short time after agreeing to filing this Motion he sent me another email stating,"he didn't have the time to do this." Once again, Mr. Brooks failed to follow through with his promises.
Mr. Brooks had appeared with me at the next hearing as scheduled and when the Judge plainly asked Mr. Brooks about delays in the case and the reasons for the delays. Mr. Brooks, "threw his hands up in the air and shrugged his shoulders". Mr. Brooks fully understood and knew the reasons but, he simply did not want his voice to go on the record for the question the judge had asked him. This had angered me very much at him not only did I think he was unprofessional but I felt he was dishonest and lacked integrity. Mr. Brooks I felt was simply not advocating on my behalf.
Additionally, after months of delays and broken promises Mr. Brooks did not even want to file a "Motion to Dismiss" for these frivolous charges brought by the Boston Police and the DA.
Finally, after many weeks of repeated conversations and emails back and forth to me. Mr. Brooks filed a "Motion to Dismiss" on my birthday (May 3). Was Mr. Brooks trying to " be funny"? I don't know but, in my opinion it was poor taste if he intended to be? Mr. Brooks really surprised me in his unwillingness to advocate diligently my innocence on my behalf. I have exculpatory evidence ( bank statements) that should have been brought forward by the firm basically, " that the Boston Police" falsified police reports and were dishonest. I had additional evidence that administrative agencies of the Commonwealth allow back dated documents to be placed in complainant files.
I had told both gentleman including Mr. Cormier, that the BPD and the DA were violating my Civil Rights and Constitutional Rights in this case and Mr. Cormier acted very arrogant saying, basically that's "bs" and he really didn't even want to hear my feeling.( Mr.Cormier didn't act that before.)
I knew after many weeks I had made a mistake in hiring Mr. Brooks and his firm for my representation. I would strongly suggest anyone seeking legal assistance to get references from past/present clients that are happy with the attorneys work product and candidness.

Our family engaged Michael Schneider to represent a member of our family in a complicated academic case. Over the course of several months, I have developed nothing but the highest respect for Mr. Schneider as a legal strategist, personal adviser, and empathetic human being. He demonstrated a special talent for projecting the likely outcomes of alternative courses of action. He laid out all the options clearly, gave his opinion of the pros and cons of each, while always respecting our wishes. He navigated the twists and turns of this complicated case to a positive outcome. I recommend him without reservation to anyone facing a challenging case.

I hired Mr. Schneider for a case after he came highly referred by some of the best legal minds I know. They were not wrong in their evaluation. Mr. Schneider is not only a first rate lawyer, but a first rate human being. The case involved complicated aspects of science, human psychology, differences in legal versus academic ground rules for evidence, and complicated socio-political dynamics. Mr. Schneider educated himself at the highest level on all of these issues, guided the entire process, weighed in when he thought I was making a mistake, and provided the right level of empathy to keep the case moving, one that took almost five years to resolve. Mr. Schneider was also highly sensitive to the financials, and kept me on task so that the bill wouldn't climb out of control.

Since finishing the case, I have referred Mr. Schneider to others, and would do so again. He has the kind of brilliant mind that one hopes for in a lawyer, combined with the empathy that is necessary to get through difficult cases.
