This review was thought out for hours. It's lengthy but completely pertinent to anyone looking for a fair defense. Don't believe you are "innocent until proven guilty"; the odds are heavily stacked against you if the EPD and City Prosecutors accuse you of a crime bc they WILL lie and falsify reports and most people (juries) and judges will take the word of the most corrupt/incomepetent cop over those of any honest citizen.

I was put in an impossible situation with falsified police reports but Laura got the bodycam footage showing the police blatantly lied, and covered up their threats to mutliate and kill me. It sounds like something out of a bad movie and I wouldnt believe it if it hadn't happened to me. The City Prosecutors Office disregarded the video evidence (lack of) and obvious nepotism and cronyism. What the police write in reports and what happens are often two completely different narratives and they act with impunity bc 99% of people won't hire the right attorney and/or know what to do.

Went from being in the wrong place at the wrong time and being assaulted...then the police show up and arrest the only person bleeding out of his face with a broken nose and concussion (me), threatening to kill me after they handcuff (of course screaming "STOP RESISTING" while I was standing still and tried breaking my fingers to get me to appear to be resisting) then detain me and take me to jail. They refuse my requests to speak with an attorney while being held and continue to question me and threaten me while in handcuffs. Cowards. I am still in disbelief of what happened...if someone else told me this story I wouldn't have believed them!

The Eugene Police Department and City Prosecutors are the biggest group of corrupt thugs and conspirators around...and most attorneys are too afraid or simply too lazy to fight back and battle for you (years ago I was assigned a Public Defender who had zero interest in actually defending me and it cost me HUGE....I regret not hiring my own attorney.)

If it weren't for Laura and I had hired the typical, spineless lawyer who is in bed with the Prosecutors, I would have been sentenced to jail and fines...instead I have the opportunity to have the charge dismissed with a little more than a few months of diversion (no classes or anything, just staying out of trouble.)

Don't risk taking a Public Defender bc it's a literal 50/50 shot that you'll get someone who fights for you or someone who rolls over for a DA or Prosecutor. If you're like me, you won't have the opportunity to get a Public Defender and you may be confused with the amount of choices and who is right for you. If Laura can't help you she will be able to recommend a competent alternative.

If you've never been accused of a crime you didn't commit, I'll tell you how it feels; it's embarrassing, terrifying and you'll find almost everyone will believe you are guilty regardless of the facts. You'll be scared that you could have this crime on your record forever and end up in jail and perhaps lose your job. You're human scum and the Justice system has zero empathy or regard for you as a human being...the police will harass and assault you bc they can get away with it since people are trained to believe that they are "heroes" fighting crime in the streets for you! Then perhaps you'll get a reality check and your world will feel like it's been turned upside down.
