I worked with Kevin Bons on the matter of a restraining order filed because my sister-in-law said I made her feel “unsafe” by blocking each phone number and new Facebook profile she created under a pseudonym in order to defame me. She is nothing but a textbook narcissist with nothing better to do but meddle in affairs that are not her own. Most of the family ignore her antics but I made the unfortunate mistake of “letting her in” in the midst of a dispute involving visitation with my minor child from out-of-state in late 2018.
Mr. Bons saw straight through the lies told by the adverse party to obtain the order in the first place and prepared to stand by me in a hearing to contest it. In the end, the sister-in-law withdrew her false statements and bid for a restraining order precisely because Kevin listened between the lines to see who the aggressor was in this instance when Victim’s Services in the county courthouse would not.
I had made no threats, nor did I have reason to, but if Mr. Bons had not prepared to come with me to this hearing, I would likely have become too emotional to handle it well on my own—after all, these are people I once cared deeply about.
Mr. Bons took note of how the adverse party and others worked to vilify, with no grounds to do so, to the point where I need not bother to respond in the future if they should come forth with more harassment and false accusations. I needed representation and Mr. Bons and his staff were present, compassionate and most of all, professional.
Even when she reached out to offer “favors”, representation remained steadfast. In the end, Mr. Bons did the very thing that I could not—teach the Streeters to leave me in peace, once and for all.
