Im just going to tell you right now, if you need someone to REALLY FIGHT for you, i would keep searching for someone other than matthew kacel. He makes everything sound so promising, like he really is looking out for your best interest. But all this man does is save face and take your money with no remorse. Was charged an additional $600 on top of his $900 rate just to travel to allegan and still get charged, license restricted, 6months probo, and $1500 in fines. This man showed up late to sentencing, not prepared to fight but to take the first plea he was given. He never seemed confident in himself. After sentencing we explained to him that it seemed like he didnt want to fight for what he was paid to do, he said and i quote “its not about the fight”. Well what is it about then?

Called Matt on a civil case. He told me he doesn’t take on civil cases but listened to my situation and referred me to an attorney in town who does. A very friendly and approachable attorney!

I hired Matt for a custody case against my ex-wife. Matt fought hard to get me 50/50 custody and parenting time with my girls. I hired Matt for a felony criminal case. Was looking at going to prison but he kept on pushing the prosecutor and eventually I got a jail cap. Was also able to get out for work release that Matt got for me. This guy is the best attorney in town!!

This attorney will take cases for way cheaper than other attorneys but buyer beware... It seems like he takes on too many cases and there is very little follow through with anything he promises. He may seem cheaper but you are paying for someone who is unreliable and deceitful in a sense. It was a complete waste of money. I used him for a couple cases and never got the result I was promised. The last bad reviews we left, he asked us to take it down and promised yet again to make things right and obviously that didn’t happen.

Now they are responding to reviews like all these people are just retaliating for no reason; you failed to file paperwork on time, promised things you didn’t do, took money and quit answering calls... obviously we aren’t the only ones this happened to and we have texts from you begging us to change our reviews and that you would make things right. We have emails about when you messed up my child support by not filing the appeal in time, remember when you kept promising you would fix it? It was thousands of dollars, I had receipts for everything and you failed to do your job. You are a crook! Of course people are retaliating, you were hired to do a job and you didn’t do anything! How dare you try to minimize this. You represented us separately before we were married on totally unrelated cases with separate retainers. The only thing you can blame us for is that we trusted you and gave you second and third chances to make things right when we should’ve just moved on.

Took my money, never returned calls, emails or facebook messages to either represent us or to get my money back for not performing any services. And I DO have the right attorney, it was my husband who paid, for a service for him, so it's probably under his name.. Good way to try to pass it off, though!

Matt was my attorney for a criminal case and he kept saying he was getting videos that would help my case. That never happened. When I got out he said he would help me with getting other things and not holding up his end so I wasted time and money for nothing and For him to ignoring my texts and phone calls.

I hired Matt for a custody case. He was always prepared and organized. I felt that he was always listening to me even though not everything in my case worked out the way I wanted it to. I've hired previous attorneys (I wont mention who) and they never took the time to sit down with me and really discuss my case in a thorough manner. I never felt rushed with Matt. He seemed truly concerned about my case and kids. Hire him, you wont regret it!

Paid 1000 dollars just get a paper typed lied to me said he would get my back child support and more and still haven’t did anything for me won’t return my phones calls and called multiple times to figure out what’s going on never return my calls meant with me one time and never did anything. Should just been my own attorney

Unorganized, poor attention to detail. No response despite multiple attempts to contact him regarding parenting time being withheld. Lost precious time with step kids that can’t be replaced and placed a huge amount of emotional and physical stress on our family as we had to scramble to get another attorney to help. Very disappointed.
