I originally hired Attorney Elyse Segovias in 2015 for a family law/custody matter. Since then, we’ve been back and forth to court for this same matter a second time, and I’ve sought her advice at times in between when she was not actively representing me as well. Essentially, she has been my attorney for four years.

Attorney Segovias has been nothing but a straight shooter with me from day one, never out to encourage or advise me to pursue something pointless or even risky at my own expense. She is not the type of attorney to advise you based on what she knows you “want” to hear but rather based on her knowledge, personal experience as an attorney, and similar cases, what will win you your case. Further, she has always advised me to do the “right thing.” Never has she encouraged me to act outside of the court’s authority nor has she approved of any language or behavior that would do a disservice to my case or my reputation. She is as much about conflict resolution whenever possible as anything, but she will never hesitate to defend her client. Her sound advice has won me more than just my case but more importantly security for my family.

Attorney Segovias is well-organized with evidence, the type of organization that wins cases and makes you proud in court as her client. I have always been able to count on her to remember the tiniest details of my case, and some of those details are largely due to why she has been so successful with my case. Judges respect her, other attorneys in the community respect her, and people I have spoken to who have used her for representation respect her as well.

I know expenses related to representation are a very big concern with many people, as they were with me. Attorney Segovias has been fair and reasonable with me, to say the least, as we have gone through this lengthy process. She has earned every penny I have paid and has still been concerned with my financial burden more than just getting paid.

All the hard work she put in for me paid off, and I am more than satisfied with the outcome. It couldn’t have been better for my family!

I’ll put it this way, she is my attorney for anything family law now and in the future. I highly recommend her to anyone in the community seeking representation with regard to all things family law related.

I was treated very poorly by my attorney. He didn't listen to me, he was not forthcoming about conflicts of interest, he yelled at me. To top it off he invaded my personal space. Not a nice individual.

I hired Mara King to handle my divorce modification. At that time Mara came highly recommended but she was unknown to me. When I was first divorced several years ago, my lawyer mishandled my case. Because of that I went into this situation guarded and doubtful that I could find representation that I could trust. I could not have been more wrong. Mara King handled my custody issues and divorce agreement modification with care and integrity. She acted on my behalf swiftly and with a high level of professionalism and expertise. My case involved a great deal of conflict and was highly emotional. Mara and her team acted as a protective barrier against all of the harassment and nonsense put forward by opposing counsel and my ex-wife. My experience with working with Andrucki and King has been a positive experience given the circumstances. I have now used Judy Andrucki in two matters; both a divorce as well as a modification of a contact order. Judy's knowledge of family law is unmatched. She maintains professionalism in all matters. I had a very poor experience with this firm and strongly encourage others to seek out other firms. I felt that there was a strong bias against men and men's rights in family matters. This seemed to be a culture engrained in the attorneys and staff at the firm. It felt to me like we were immersed in the 1980's in terms of their views on divorce, custody, and parental rights. Legal matters are stressful and difficult enough to deal with. You shouldn't have to feel like you are enduring additional persecution and biases from your own representation. The other major issue I had with the firm was their billing. It really felt as though they had no interest in solving my case quickly and sought to draw things out as much as possible. In fact, the judge in my case cited in his ruling that the attorney's fees for the other side were excessive (my fees from Andrucki and King were even more than hers but my fees weren't put in front of the judge for his comment- so, draw your own conclusions). The discovery process was a disaster with having to provide the same documents repeatedly and be billed for their review. I was actually called by Ms. Andrucki and asked to email a document that I had already provided and was in my file. When questioned about this and her billing me to call to request this, she told me it "was actually cheaper for me to have her call me and ask me to resend it then to pay her for her time to search through my file to find it." Again, I would seek representation elsewhere.

A good lawyer can ease the stress of divorce. Andrucki is that lawyer.

This firm is amazing! Mara took over my case after 2 other local attorneys had it. She was able to accomplish what those other attorneys could not. My case was in the Court system for over 3 years. Mara took over the case in September and in January, my case was finally over and brought to a satisfactory conclusion for all involved. Horrible legal representation by Mara King. She allowed my minor son to be emotionally, physically and sexually abused during my divorce proceedings. She supported my abuse that also included not getting me any financial support after my husband emptied out all of our bank accounts. She took money from me though, gladly while she did not behave anything like the American Bar Associations ethical, moral and legal standards all of which the other attorneys in this practice were well aware of and supported. Stay FAR FAR away from this firm!
