In 2017, a driver hit me with his vehicle while I was commuting home by bicycle. I sustained some rather serious, non-life threatening, injuries and had to have surgery. As you can imagine, there were some issues with the insurance and liability. A lawyer I knew from my mountain biking community who practices other types of law told me that Lauri Boxer-Macomber at Kelly, Remmel & Zimmerman might be the best person to handle my bike case. She was right. Lauri understood the law and issues well, worked hard on my difficult case, and got me a good result. This was a huge relief to me and quite a feat on Lauri’s part as the insurance fought her tooth and nail. From the beginning they were very difficult but the groundwork Lauri laid out and the avenues she took slowly made them realize how formidable and persistent she is and that she wasn’t going anywhere. I truly believe that Lauri’s expertise in bike law, experience as a cyclist, determination, hard work, and diligence are what made a difference in my case. Lauri went above and beyond what I expected and produced an excellent outcome. I can’t thank her enough for all she did and was able to get accomplished. She comes highly recommended by me and if I’m ever in that situation again, which I hope I’m not, Lauri will be my first phone call.

My world was collapsing all around me, and then I found Kelly, Remmel and Zimmerman.
In August 2016, I was hit by a truck while biking. Even while I was in the ER, insurance companies started calling and bills were piling up. The emotional and physical pain from the accident alone was too much. The headache of everything else made it nearly unbearable; I needed help.
Lauri Boxer-Macomber took care of everything so that I could focus on healing. She and the team were patient, through, empathetic and responsive. No rock was left unturned.
If you find yourself if need of an attorney, you have the best Maine can offer in Kelly, Remmel and Zimmerman.

I am happy to have had Barry and Heather to work with on a family court matter. They were a great team and we reached the ending we had hoped for! I highly recommend them to anyone seeking a partnership that yields results!
Lauri Boxer-Macomber took great care of my situation after a bad bike crash (me vs SUV) earlier this year. Highly recommend if you find yourself in a similar unfortunate situation.

I had never in my life thought that I would need the services of an attorney until that fateful day in September of 2016. It was a very scary thing for me, I was very rattled and confused after my incident. I was out riding my bicycle when I was suddenly and violently hit from behind by a vehicle that was traveling 50-mph.
My body felt battered and broken, and my trust in humanity especially after what I had been through was not the best. But regardless, I felt violated and I knew I needed help from a professional. That help came in the form of Lauri Boxer-Macomber.
Upon meeting her in our home and after a bit of discussion we returned to the scene of my incident and we discussed what had occurred - she was very concerned with the details and nuances. She was also very understanding, compassionate, and concerned with my health and welfare. She insisted I make sure all my bases were covered. I could tell she was very well versed in bicycle law. With that, the public stereotypes of what dealing with an attorney soon faded. She was knowledgeable and incisive in her approach toward my case. Though she also explained to me that it may take quite a while to get things sorted and settled. This is reality, not television fantasy.
That being said, I had no illusions in that area. Sadly, a person who enjoys my sport (cycling) is all too familiar with the direction of what the legal process, public discourse and law enforcement will take when you are an unwilling victim of carelessness.
Please, never ever think that the legal process is easy or expedient, that thought process is nonsense and hearsay. But you can be sure if Lauri is on your side, the job will get done. She will take the time to make sure you are cared for during, as well as after the process of your case.
May you enjoy fair winds and following seas.
Sincerely, Ivy Luhrs

Working with Lauri and her legal assistants was extremely easy, and I really appreciate the time and the work that they put into my case (bicycle crash). Their knowledge of bicycle specific law is fantastic, and I had absolutely no problems with their handling of my case. Very professional. Hope to not have to use again, but certainly would.

Hired this firm to deal w/a issue regarding a portion of my road being closed by an abutter. Asked them to contact the Town as well as the Road Assn. they never did. They sent one letter to the neighbor. That was it. When I pressed then to contact the Road Assn. and the Town, they stated they did not like my "tone" and dropped the case. Made it clear that contacting the Road Assn would resolve the situation as I was told by an officer of the Assn. Unprofessional

Best law firm in the state! I highly recommend contacting this law firm. Excellent attorneys who listen and go above and beyond for their clients. I'll never call any other firm should a need arise. I worked with John McArdle. John is one of the most decent human beings I've met in my life. He really cares about his clients. He's easy to speak with and always made me feel comfortable sharing very personal information with him. He handles everything with fluid proficiency and with an admirable grace under pressure. He doesn't miss details and makes certain to communicate in a timely manner. If you need a lawyer call Kelly Remmel & Zimmerman right away!
