I think that the town of Watertown South Dakota is collaborating together with Sheriff, States Attorney, Judge and Clerk of courts to run several insurance fraud scams that they are covering for. The judgement that they write out are not properly documented in public records and seem hidden, as my search in their database indicated for me. The landlords Neal and Terri Mack seem to have several short-lived businesses that they seem to use in order to evade taxes and claim "loss" under. The problem is that they are committing fraud and it is damaging to the people they interact with.
In a backed up court until March, Judge Patrick McCann held a secret court with only two cases on January 19th where I witnessed a woman get awarded $12,000 for a tattoo that she didn't like, just because the artist did not want to finish it, without any receipts justifying this outrageous expense and the artist was not present!!!
I was taken to court by my landlord and only notified yesterday evening that I had to be in court today.
I was physically chased out of my rental unit while moving, with rent paid through end of the current month and a 90 day notice on moving. Landlords delayed my move. I went to the police station, also wrote a report on 11/28-29/2017. They had me showcase apartment, received rent for next month December, 2017 and then attempted to sue me for an extra month after intentionally delaying my moved AND already receiving rent from another person who moved in immediately after. All the delays cause me to take ONE day into December to move out. (December 1rst 2017). When I went to pick up my mail December 4th there was already another tenant in there. Landlords intentionally caused a delay in moving, then claimed a $700 loss in rent for ONE day into next month, a month they got rent from next tenant for. They evicted me without any notice on my door or knowledge in order to attempt to "validate" this claim, while at the same time trying to prevent me from moving out. I have rented for 14 years and have never been evicted or had problems with landlords. It did not hold up in court because I had text with them delaying my move, stating I couldn't move. I was not on a lease and rented 2 1/2 years. My rent was $630 per month, not $700 as on the claim in small claim courts. They did not receive a judgement for this incident but they attempted fraud. I am writing two more incidents of the successful fraud that they made which includes taking used carpet out of their own home and installing it in other tenants apartment then suing for brand new carpet for other tenants and valuing old broken items that they fail to repair as worth thousands of dollars. Also, they take cash payments from tenants.. One tenant that they are doing this to is a masters engineering student named Abdullah Alzaydani from Saudia Arabia/ Dubia. I have never had landlords this horrible and dishonest. Neal Mack and Terri Mack are married and Neal Mack plays the role of good cop and pretends to be agreeable and professional, Terri Mack plays the role of bad cop, but they are both partners in crime.
