Do not spend your money here! He took a case for my son and did absolutely nothing for him. My son had to put down a lot of money for his case, but Carlos did nothing to help him. He always had someone else cover his hearing and would not talk to me either when I would call in. I had to start calling in because Carlos would not return my son's phone calls. He's a joke! I hired Carlos Monzon to represent me in a 1st offence case. At first when hiring Carlos, he was quick to take my phone call and my money back in September of 2017. Carlos continued my court cases 7 times in total. Half of the time would not even be present during the case and have one of his associates represent him, without ever contacting me prior. Carlos even showed up one time and continued the case when we both were present. I never missed a court case. After that time when he showed up, Carlos told me to contact his office and schedule an appointment to speak with him in regards to my case. I did this as he said, and had an appointment scheduled. Come date of the appointment, I called to speak with Carlos, and he wasn't there. So they moved it to the following week. This same pattern continued on after several attempts. Every time Carlos was not available or out of state. He could not even send me an email. This continued on until a case where once again Carlos didn't show up, and one of his associates came and asked how we wanted to proceed. I wanted to go on with the case but the judge would not allow this and the county prosecutor was not pleased with Carlos. Apparently Carlos's associate, David Chipman, informed Carlos that he needs to get with his clients and not beat around the bush. By the way I am not the only person getting treated this way. There was another woman who was in the same situation with him. Finally after countless times trying to communicate with him, I spoke to him again for a brief phone call, and basically we went over the exact same thing as we did when I first did consultation and hired him. Then come to day of court, Carlos of course was late, the prosecutor had to search him down in the court house. Finally he came to the stand, the judge asked me if I was satisfied with my council. Me being an honest person and knowing you do not lie to a judge especially, said somewhat satisfied. Carlos quickly reacted and pulled me aside and asked how we would like to proceed, and I said I guess lets go for it. Then Carlos asked the judge if he could withdraw from the case, and stormed out of the court room. I do not know he thought he was deserving of a good appraisal after everything he didn't do. DO NOT take your business to this law firm. Complete scam, just cost me $800 and I had to take days off of work for every court date that was continued or where he didn't show up.

Completely unprofessional and threw papers at me from across the court room.

We had a very poor experience with Carlos Monzon. I would never recommend him. I felt very unsure about him towards the end, and was deeply disappointed in his performance as a lawyer.

I hired Carlos to represent me on a class 3 misdemeanor that I was 100% not guilty of but before doing so I did some research and wasn't too thrilled ( a lady friend had mentioned His name and I knew She wasn't too sharp but I overlooked that, why I do not know) I called Carlos and explained my situation. I mentioned that I did not want a plea bargain if I hired Him and He assured me that the case wouldn't even be filed but I would have to bring Him $800 the next morning so I brought Him the money. Well the case was filed and when I met Carlos at the court house His first words were "will you plead guilty to disturbing the peace"?. Long story short this guy is a bum in my opinion. Sure He has won some cases but who hasn't that has been an attorney for so long especially when the county attorney is weak. Anyways, I ended up pleading no contest because I didn't want to "fire" Carlos and have him keep my money and then have to hire another attorney wasting even more time. I will never hire anyone from the office of Carlos Monza.
Also, Carlos got loud with me twice. Once He called me yelling because I chewed His Lazy receptionist out on the phone and second in court after I plead no contest and the county attorney read what the police officer wrote in the citation I leaned over to Carlos and said thats not true and He leaned back and was very aggressive and loud with me saying quiet or they will walk you to jail. . I should have fire the bum right then. My fault for hiring Carlos going against my better judgement. But not to bash Carlos I will never hire Carlos again nor will I ever think He is an sharp attorney. These reviews are rigged in that a star has to be given in order to post and the work that was done for me is not worth a star as it was very sub par. . I should have hired an attorney from the same ethnic group because thisYou do not need an attorney if you are going to make a plea agreement. This guy is pure prejudice as a result of him feeling inferior (in my opinion). Do yourself a favor and hire someone else.
