Hired and everything was fine, seemed to care about the case and issues. That wasnt true. Only cared about getting paid. Never did what was initially told to me as in filing of motions. And totally pushed into a plea, after accepting plea in court the attorney refused to even talk to us any further. Found out a few weeks later that he lied to us about some details that actually pushed us into the plea. would never recommend!!!

I went through a VERY rough time by being falsely arrested for DUI Drug charge never having been arrested in my 32 years. Kevin got it dismissed as soos as he could; after four months (thanks BPD -blood test result). Kevin took care of everything! Anytime there was information he met with me, was comforting and on top of everything, I felt like he really was going to take care of me and he did! I hired Johnson Law Group after being charged with drug possession/manufacturing/distribution in a drug raid. This was my first time being in serious trouble with the law and facing multiple felony offenses one of which was a class 2. Not only did the attorneys at Johnson Law drop the majority of my felony charges, they also worked tirelessly with the prosecuting attorney to convince them to put me on second chance probation and give me the chance to wipe my criminal record clean after 2 years. Brendan and Kevin worked with me throughout the entire court process and made sure I knew what was going on throughout my case the entire time. I traveled down to the Bloomington-Normal area to see a relative play basketball for his Senior Night at Wesleyan. After the game and ceremony we went out to celebrate and ended up at a bar in the downtown area.

It was a quiet night until my boyfriend and I were suddenly arrested by the Bloomington Police without being given a reason or told what was going on. I have never been arreseted before and found myself in handcuffs and told I was arrested for resisiting arrest eventhough I was never asked my name or told why I was in handcuffs. It was a total shock to me.

The next day, I called Johnson Law and spoke with a very professional woman who took all of the details from my incident and passed them along to Doug Johnson. I had an appointment to meet with Doug the very next day (Monday) and I reviewd all of the details of my arrest with him. Doug calmly assured me that my arrest was something that he was wiling to help me fight in court and he felt that my arrest, specifically, was unjustified.

Over the following 2 weeks, Doug replied to all of my emails and phone calls with urgency and great care. I never felt like I was just another client to Doug, he truly made me feel like he always had his finger on the pulse of my case and he has great attention to detail which I believe were the reasons that Doug was able to see my case get dropped by the state before it even went infront a judge.

Doug, you will never understand how much your professional demeanor and genuine care for your clients means. Lawyers often get a bad reputation but you shine as a bright spot and as an exception to that stigma. There are people like me out there who have never been arrested and need someone who will not rest fighting for what's right untl justice is served. Everyone I encountered at the firm were always nice and informative. Personally I dealt with Brendan Bukalski the most and there are not enough great things to say about him. I was actually surprised by how nice, honest, and hard working he was. He did absolutely everything he said he would and then some. One of the best all around people I have had to fortune of meeting. Over the past several years, I have used the services of Johnson Law Group for real estate and small business related services. The one and two star reviews are more accurate regarding this boiler room so called law office. Definitely did exactly as described to me a few years ago so this tells me they are still at it. Called to set an appointment. Bob Hunter who was in another state over quoted me. Met with mark Johnson himself who wanted me to sign a contract that funds were considered earned upon received. After being a fool and paying I never heard from or saw him again. Had to hunt someone down from their office for representation on my court date. Found Waller the wannabe lawyer who tried brushing me off and forcing me into a joke plea deal. Keep in mind I just met him at the court house while they were ripping off another client and he had no intention on representing me. Didn't even know I had a court date or who I was...Knew nothing about my case and did exactly what the others have said. Was very disrespectful and acted as if they were the prosecutor. No wonder they are always in trouble with the courts...karma works in mysterious ways now doesn't it. Look up wallers boss mark d Johnson and u will find he is nothing more than a criminal on multiple offenses over many years. Dig around and you'll see. My advice....go with a public defender. Your better off and will still have your money.

They reel you in with a bunch of promises and then flip the script and try to extort additional money from you. Quote " Don't get me wrong... I can defend you for the amount we agreed upon, I just can't give you my best defense." Wonder how many others have been blind sided by that one of the years. I consulted this law office when I got charged with a bogus felony. At first they were very compassionate and told me that my best bet was to get a prefile. Then they would look after my case and keep in contact with the detective on my case so they would know when I would be formally charged and have a warrant putout for my arrest. I told them I can give them half the money now and then set up a payment plan when I am formally chrarged. They told me a prefile was the way to go and a monthly payment plan would do. But they ignored my case and when I was issued a warrant the cops picked me up from my work. Thank goodness my boss is kind and didnt fire me. But they also refused to let me set a monthly plan and then refused to give me any of my money back. I was verbally abused and calle a drug addict by bob hunter himself. These people are just as bad as the police. As soon as I was formally charged they disrespected me and literally called me names like "crazy and probably just so high you don't know whats going on". Yes those words were spoken to me by a lawyer I trusted. I have never felt so disrespected in my life. Save your money and go with a public defender if its your first offense. This office will just scare you into giving them money and then completely ignore your case.
