I am from Maryland and didn’t want to go to court in PA with a Maryland attorney. PA has such a different way of doing things. I was referred to Mr. Lauer through family that knew of him and used him years ago. I was facing some serious charges and was scared and had a lot of questions. Mr. Lauer was honest from the first meeting. He didn’t make any promises or give me any false hope. My situation could have been a lot worse but Mr. Lauer was able to get the most serious charges dismissed and in the near future we will be using him to get them expunged. I ended up pleading guilty but it was my best option. Mr. Lauer met with us numerous times when we had questions and concerns, he answered any questions we had to the best of his ability and never made us any promises. He told me the best and worst case scenarios so I knew what to expect in court. I came out with basically everything we asked for. I am in a much better position then I was when I was arrested in september. I wanted to go to trial and instead of taking all my money and losing he was honest about the probability of losing and also additional more severe charges that could come up. I am so glad I took his advice. I sent so many emails because I was so nervous and made so many calls, he did his best to respond when he had an answer but when needed he met with us in person every time we requested to see him. He knows what he is doing. I am glad I trusted him with my case.

Patrick Lauer is an awesome lawyer i recommend him to anybody with criminal charges.Mainly dui is his strongest knowledge of which Mr Lauer helped write alot of the dui laws in Pa.Pat is very blunt and to the point ,,very business oriented and friendly!!He will fight the best he can resulting in your best interests! We obtained fabulous results from skilled attorneys, Heather Orisko and Patrick Lauer. They were wonderful with their communication and responsiveness. They are definitely worth their fee (every penny). We would not hesitate to recommend or hire them again, if needed.

Our young adult daughter received her first and only traffic ticket for a high rate of speed on a PA highway. We made the mistake of advising her to pay the large fine thinking that would be punishment enough. Later we realize it was actually admitting to a guilty conviction, leading to even greater consequences with insurance, points, and possible suspension.

Thank goodness the Law Offices of Patrick Lauer came to our rescue and represented us. They were able to negotiate a plea to reduce the speed of the infraction. The plea also help us avoid making the three hour trip each way from out of state.

Both attorneys worked together to negotiate on our daughter’s behalf. Heather answered all of my endless questions about options and the various procedures through phone calls and email. My ex filed for custody. From the first counseling we both were agreed on 50/50 plan. I dropped my child off at his residence on the following day and we got in fight over our child at his residence on the same day. As I was assaulted, I called 911 but things got dramatically changed. I was arrested and ended up in jail for aggravated assault for 24 hours. As soon as I was released on bail, I started looking for a criminal attorney. I hired Mr. Lauer. The criminal case was dismissed. The criminal charges were expunged. Mr. Lauer helped me with PFA and I was granted against that “monster”. After that he worked hard to study my custody case. He helped me to understand the most important parts of the custody procedures. Basically, he walked me through. We were at the trial and he did brilliant job. I would highly recommend Mr. Lauer.

I could not recommend anyone more than Pat. My case was closed in early 2016, but I still need to tell people that, after firing a small army of attorneys, Pat restored my faith in the legal profession. That's not easy to do. He does a lot more than DUI and there are audible shudders in DA offices when its learned a defendant has hired him. Please, he's rough around the edges, and even a little nuts, but worth every penny.

I hired Mr. Lauer for custody and child support cases. I found him extremely professional and very easy to work with. He made me feel very comfortable and relaxed during a difficult situation and was very open and honest with me through the whole process. I would not recommend this office to anyone! Mr. Lauer has his assistant atty show up for court in his place and she has no idea what she is doing and is rude when she answers the phone. He also charges you a " pay as you go fee" meaning every little thing he does you pay $1500 up front. He does not inform you of the process of what may or may not happen. We ended up paying 7k for him to do nothing and had to hire another atty. If you want a good atty keep looking and do NOT waste your time and money here.

DON'T USE LAUER, sent me to jail for my first DUI!! he was my attorney for my first DUI and my blood alcohol level was 2.6. the problem is that he had me plead guilty, which meant 48hrs in jail and having my license suspended for 1 year. However, I met 2 people in therapy who got ARD w/ their first DUIs w/ similar blood alcohol levels (1 who offered the prosecuting attorney to enroll in therapy after his first DUI with BAC of 2.5; and the other who ended up in therapy with his 2nd DUI, but his first got him ARD w/ blood alcohol level of 2.6 because his attorney had him enroll in therapy as soon as charges were brought against him). I repeatedly asked Lauer if there's anything I could do to help myself, and he repeatedly shook his head "no". If he's so experienced, why didn't he recommend taking a shot at enrolling in therapy? I put my fate in his hands, and therapy wasn't a part of the equation until it was forced upon me. Yet the other guys I met who's first DUIs were similar to mine hired attorneys w/ the foresight to offer to enroll in therapy to the prosecuting attorney right off the bat. My situation was a punchline at therapy because I went to jail for my first DUI (first thing ever on my record other than a speeding ticket). If he's such a DUI specialist, why didn't Lauer suggest this? either he's learned nothing with all his 'experience' or he hung me out to dry.
FREE ADVISE: IF IT'S YOUR FIRST DUI, OFFER TO ENROLL IN THERAPY TO THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY. apparently 4 grand wasn't enough for Patrick to recommend that to me. that's a lot of money, hopefully I can save you a few bucks

He is truly an expert in this field. He is the author of Pennsylvania DUI Defense and I was honored to help him edit an updated version back in 2004. I still keep a copy in my office for reference.
