When I hired Mr. Mark, he seemed very confident that my case is almost guaranteed and he was expecting to get me refunded from the plaintiff because she filed a very unsubstantiated false report. He even said I should travel to court by first class air-tickets because the plaintiff will most likely refund me. However, once I hired him, all what he was asking the judge for was the informal resolution and that's what happened after several hearings because she clearly had no case. She was on her own without a lawyer. He should have been a fighter especially he knew my case was extremely strong. After she signed the resolution, she filed another complaint in the superior court and he asked for extra fees for that new lawsuit. I have to mention a good thing that he returned $450 of the first payment. He was honest calculating his hours that most attorneys are not. After all, I lost large amount of money and time for an attorney who never fights even if his adversary is weak and pointless.

I wish I could give 10 stars for this review. I found Mr. Mark on the internet after months of trying to find a lawyer in New York or New Jersey to help a with very challenging immigration situation. He responded quickly and gave me a free consultation. He never hesitated to work with me regardless of my circumstances. I was also surprised at his more than affordable price as quite a number of lawyers that I contacted wanted to charge me double the amount yet still told me that they were not able to help me at the time due to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding my case and that I should come back when it has changed.

I have read most of the reviews on this office and I must say that they are all pretty much on point and accurately describes The law office Eric M Mark. The exceptions are the two obvious internet trolls that unsuccessfully try to discredit the brilliant work that this office does. After going to my initial meeting with Mr. Mark and associate Cristina , I left their office feeling as if I had definitely made the right the right choice and retaining them to represent me on my 13 traffic tickets/ matters that I was facing. Eric has represented me several times, each with outstandingly good results. My family and I had a very long immigration case spanning over 20 years and we had several different lawyers over the years from all over the country. We hired him after we had been ordered deported, lost both appeals, and were detained by ICE around 2011. He was able to help my family who was not detained to push a strong effort to arrange our release. I will not go into specifics but Eric went above and beyond and reached FARRRRRR and wide to arrange our release. Eric arranged our release from ICE custody with no bail, no electronic monitoring device, nothing. Just an order of supervision to check in every 6 months, which he also used to get us employment authorization documents so we could work and obtain a NJ license legally. Eric also represented me in a criminal defense capacity and each time he said, and I quote, "we will not accept anything less than a dismissal" and he got the dismissal both times. Also, my family has been trying to get an waiver of some kind for our immigration case since 1993 or so, and several previous lawyers told us that this waiver was impossible to get given our circumstances. Well, Eric got the waiver for us, no small feat I'm sure, which was a crucial part of our case moving forward. Eric has been an extremely honest, transparent, and reliable lawyer since the first encounter. I would recommend him (and i have) to anyone who needs a lawyer. He is extremely sharp and, for lack of a better term, knows his stuff verryyyy well. My only mistake in regards to my dealings with Eric was not taking his advice on something when he told me what would be best for me to do. At the time, I thought it was not necessary and he was being overly cautious. However, turned out he was right and by me not listening to him and doing what he said would be best for me, I ended up in the exact position he warned me I would be in if I didn't take his advice... Basically, if he's your lawyer, just listen to whatever he says even if you think its not necessary, because by the time you realize he was right it might be too late. If I ever need representation again in my life, I wouldn't dream of going to another attorney. Besides his legal abilities, Eric actually cares about his clients and does what is in their best interest, and this is apparent.

I was accused of so many horrible things that also caused problems for my immigration status. I went to get help from public defendant - never got any help. I hired an attorney, he mismanaged my case and I had no options left.
Eventually, I was able to hire Eric. he changed the circumstances completely. I was dealing with a legal mess - on marital, criminal and immigration front.

I came to Eric Mark's office with my son, when Christina (a different lawyer) said he wasn't in the office we tried to leave. She then called him on the phone to give me peace of mind that he would handle our case. That's what he stated when we spoke on the phone. Cristina gave me some forms to fill and return. I did not return the intake forms right away because as I told Cristina I was waiting for documents. I called once and left a message for Cristina back in December, now is February and I'm still waiting for that call. I returned the forms, to which Cristina said would review them. EIGHT DAYS LATER, I had to send another email because there was NO answer. Eric called that day to say his office was short in personnel and couldn't get to it but will look. After that, someone else (Carolina) requested info, some of which was already given to them, i.e. Resident Alien # for co-sponsor. After giving some of the same info again, she asked me to come in and pay a different amount and with different fees than what Cristina and Eric had said in the beginning, reason why I wanted to talk to either one, Cristina responded thru email but refused to make a phone call. The secretary said I had to come and PAY but refused to tell me about any other fees, stating Eric will let me know AFTER I pay the next $1135. she said I will come ONLY to PAY and sign. I have requested a phone call 4 different times, even in writing, I'm still to receive one. I gave him $600 deposit, he has not giving me the courtesy of a phone call, now she demands another $1,100+ and still I can't get to talk to someone live. We have not met personally, he has not answered ANY of my questions, and still refuses to call, yet have time to write an email refusing to refund the deposit. I don't have any confidence in his services as his office has emailed me several times just requesting for me to come in and PAY more money, even when they haven't provided ANY services. He will take your money and 5 months later still will NOT HAVE THE DECENCY TO TALK TO YOU IN PERSON OR ON THE PHONE..

I used this guy back in 2017 and 2015. I thought he was awful. He didn't respond me once anytime I e-mailed him. Of course, he has no problem cashing my check the next day. He was unresponsive but made sure I paid. I just want people to know that he only cares about his fees and has no regard for his client welfare. In fact, I felt discriminated by him but he was supposed to be my lawyer!! For the record, I have been his client in 2015 and 2017, I am not making this up. Mike is my nickname. I will stand by my take that you are one of worst attorneys out there! Many of your past clients agree.

My dad and I went to see this "lawyer", another person took a deposit of $600 last September, and we never got to meet him, he refused to meet or call, someone wrote emails back and forth. Don't trust lawyer/lier with your hard work money, he'll scam you!

Terrible lawyer, he postponed me more than 1 year saying that I need more documents, excuses every time, delays and more and more weird documents required.
His secretary won't connect my call and/ or I will get "he will call you back later". ( yea right )
When I switched to a new lawyer ,she submitted my paperwork in 1 week, with LESS documentation that Eric asked for and not mention the fact that she did it in 1 week. Only after that, and after speaking with couple of more lawyers, I realized what mistake I did hiring Eric M Mark.

Please do your research and don't hand him a check like I did, he basically took $1200 fee to start what it will be a never ending process, won't return the money stating that it's a fee for all the phone calls and time wasted on the case.( there were 2 phone calls when I tried to get my money back, just 1 meeting when I handed the check, and the rest it's emails probably sent by his secretary).

Ripped off and took advantage of a family member that got a d.u.i , which was the first time he has ever been in trouble or needed a lawyer.

I had the opportunity to hire Mr. Eric Mark for a criminal matter where the police allegations where nebulous at best and the police exaggerated the charges to a more severe charge to aggravated assault. This was due to a bar fight. Mr. Eric Mark was able to have the charges dismissed with both parties agreeing to dismiss the charges. I would recommend Mr. Eric Mark as a criminal attorney for future criminal matters.

Words cannot begin to describe the gratitude and complete satisfaction that I have for Eric Mark. He has went above and beyond my expectations and I sincerely believe that if I had retained any other immigration attorney besides Eric, my final outcome would have ended in demise. I am Permanent Resident Green Card Holder living in the United States for the past 41 years since 1975. I never even knew anything about deportations or ICE.
My story begins when I was entering JFK airport in 2-2014 from India and the Customs officer noticed an arrest from 2007. It was a misdemeanor and I had a conditional discharge of which I successfully completed. I never payed a fine or served any jail time. I received a deferred inspection in Philadelphia bc my 5 year old son was with me at the time.
I appeared twice in Philadelphia immigration court and both times they agreed that I did not have a deportable offense. They told me to fill out cancellational of removal papers and gave me a court date 7 months later. I missed the date of 3-3-2016. Well on 6-23-2016 ICE agents came to my door and took me away to Essex County Detention Facilty. The judge had ordered me deported in absentia for missing my court date for a non deportable offense. DEPORTED!!! Not a fine, not a couple of days in jail...DEPORTED!
While in custody for 3 weeks, I heard from one of the other detainees about an aggressive attorney by the name of Eric Mark. I hired Eric and he came to see me in ECCF almost immediately on a Sunday. He patiently took notes as I told him my story but mentioned that this could get ugly very quickly and took my case very seriously since the judge had issued a final order of deportation.
Within a week of that consult, on 7-24-2016, I was on a plane being duped about going to another detention facilty in Louisianna. Everyone told me that they don't deport to India and that if I didn't cooperate then they couldn't get travel documents but this is all a lie. This was an actual staging area for deportations which was right inside the airport in a converted hanger building. I called Eric immediately upon arriving there and he got to work throughout the weekend. 3 days later I was on an ICE plane shackled like a dog being deported along with about 85 other India and Bangladeshians. This plane had about 20 ICE agents to accompany us for the long 30 hour flight through California, Marshall Islands, Hawaii, Guam , Phillpipines, Bangladesh and then New Delhi India.
I went through every emotion my poor son, shock, disbelief, anger, resentment, depression, suicidal, and outright inconsolable sadness that after 41 years in this country and working as a professional that this is the end result.
As the plane flew from California borders, I gave up hope of any last minute heroics of a stay of deportation.
What I didn't realize was that my attorney Eric Mark was working hard and had almost never given up. He appeared before the immigration judge and thought that it was too late because my plane had already left the California coast. After finding out that my plane needed to make additional stops on US soil to refuel, he reapproached the immigration judge and convinced him to reopen the case because of the merits of my situation.
In a MIRACULOUS series of events, I was taken off the plane in Guam. The judge had agreed and accepted Eric's motion to reopen the case. I spent another month in Guam Detention. I finally was returned and my case was completely terminated the day before my hearing on 9-21-16.
