They were so nose and careing.

You only actually have the rights you can defend - or that someone is willing to defend for you; so it is no exaggeration to say Iowa Legal Aid restored my status as a fully vested member of the human race. I'm not sure there are enough words in existence to describe the importance of their mission.

Iowa legal aid not only helped me with my legal issue, they did it in a way that helped me regain my dignity. When the world had gone mad and it felt like no one believed me, my assigned advocate helped me focus on the critical issues and wisely advised me and my caretaker on appropriate steps.

Even when not everything went my way in court, her steadfast support and intelligent approach made me feel that even the worst case scenario was simply something unfair that might happen to me, rather than the whole world judging my personhood and rejecting it.

If you are in need, they do their best to help. We had to do our own "leg work" - but I think that is perfectly reasonable.

If you are considering supporting this organization, I can't reccomend it strongly enough to do it justice. There are precious few places where your dollars can change lives in such a profound and important way. If you believe in human dignity, you should be supporting Iowa Legal Aid.

Iowa Legal Aid is an organization that is allegedly known for assisting predominantly women with the obstruction of justice. It is not surprising that they have had their funding cut in recent years.

They take what they know they can take. It is limited in the sense that it seem to depend on who is calling and why. It's a case by case basis. Only once first time were they able to help me for a basic divorce papers yet for other lawsuit of any kind, they can't do much. The employees lawyers are slow but talkative so give it a try and depending on the moody time maybe you get something done

I have tried numerous times to get ahold of them, I reached the receptionist once, who rudely advised me that they were only doing emergency applications that day and I should either do the application online or call back the next day. At the time, I simply wanted to know what my rights were and wasn't planning on applying for assistance, which I told her but she just repeated herself again and hung up. Didn't even try to help me AT ALL. First of all, if you don't have a computer, you can't do the application online and second, I have only gotten a busy signal or no answer since.

This place is awesome. I had an issue and had results next day! I realize each situation is different but the woman I worked with was kind and honest, explaining what exactly she could and couldn't do. I am on a low income right now and some of the things I have to deal with are overwhelming. I trust these people and am incredibly grateful to be able to have somewhere I can go for help. Identity theft is so prevalent and burdensome so again thank God I have help with this. If you have issues that aren't criminal cases and meet the criteria I recommend them highly.

Both Tasha Johnson and Rob Poggenklass did a excelent job and have probably even saved my life. No more living in my car at -10 degrees. They worked hard to get me my section 8 voucher back and even my security deposit. Thank You! Iowa Legal Aid for a job well done. Arizona here I come!! YAY!
