Won't work for you if she doesn't see a benefit for herself. Not an attorney that is in it for the client. Eager to refer you elsewhere if she feels you're case will be difficult and time consuming. Only converses via email and is slow to respond.

I hired her last May for a divorce my wife and I had no asstets no kids she got the SUV I got the van I moved to Washington state had to move back to Iowa to get the divorce done which I had to hire a new lawyer. I called Kathryn many times emailed her many times stop by her office many times. I got all my retainer fee back thanks to my new lawyer also wrote a letter to the Iowa board of laywer in demonies If you want a crooked lawyer And waste your money and time Kathryn Davis is the one

To give this woman 1 star is way more than deserved but I need people to know what they are getting into when attempting to work with Kathryn Davis. If you are looking for an inexperienced attorney that won't respond to calls, emails, or texts once your check clears, then you're in the right place! Aside from the poor response once we made one appearance in court I just found out that I had an opportunity to appeal that she never brought up, this was a child care modification and cost both me and my daughter greatly! Kathryn did nothing to explain my options once the judge ruled, then stopped all communications for weeks! I was finally able to get back in touch with her, then terminated service and requested a refund, she gave in without a fight. I asked for a refund, and was offered a third of my retainer back, I mistakenly asked for only 50% back(expensive lesson) instead of the full amount.

Kathryn knew she didn't do her job properly and my new attorney was shocked at the lack of what was explained and done to represent me. I learned a hard lesson by trying to work with Kathryn Davis both emotionally and financially but worse than that it's my child that suffers along with my family.

Please be thorough when attempting to work with any attorney in a vulnerable state and DO NOT work with Kathryn Davis. Her retainer was lower and that should have been the big RED FLAG!

Kathy is very friendly. She is on time for meetings. She does what she says she will. She is very calm and is a good person to listen during your frustration. I recommend her to anyone in need.
