I can't really comment on the aptitude and diligence of the firm, but I just spoke to Al Mainetti who couldn't POSSIBLY have been LESS helpful (which is an all to frequent problem in the "profession" to begin with).

I have a probable malpractice issue that has left me permanently scarred, and instead of being polite, responsive, and sympathetic, he was curt, interrupted me at nearly every turn, and asked me repetitive questions I had already answered (he clearly wasn't paying attention).

He told me with absolutely ZERO tact that the firm wouldn't be "willing" to take the case for financial reasons. (as if lawyers need to be anymore stereotypical, right?) He sounded a bit senile to be honest.

I asked him a question about an unrelated manner that pertained to how the firm was able to get a simple Notice of Claim reported in the newpaper on behalf of an ex-client of theirs, and not only did that question bamboozle him, but he contradicted himself in his answer only to abruptly dismiss the call. So I said, "OK then, BYE."

Horrible experience.

Michael A. Mainetti acted as my public defender in a case where I was charged with not only a misdemeanor but a class B felony with possible jail time. My expectations going into this situation using a public defender were extremely low. When I first met with Michael he had stated to me that most likely I would end up convicted of at least one of the charges. Michael was able to make a plea deal with the district attorney and judge my very first day in court, the misdemeanor would be dropped completely and as long as I completed treatment I was to receive an ACD for the felony. The ACD would seal the felony from my permanent record. This month I received my ACD. From day one, Michael was up front, honest, caring, informative, knowledgeable and understanding. He told me that he would do his absolute best and he surpassed that. Michael is the only reason I was able to keep my most prized possession, my nursing license. I will never be able to repay Michael for what he has done for me! I am extremely grateful for Michael and the hard work he put forth for my case. I highly recommend Mainetti Mainetti & O'Connor, PC especially Michael A. Mainetti.
