The Facebook page named "Grady for District Attorney", presumably run by incumbent Dutchess County DA Bill Grady, is censoring and deleting questions and comments from constituents that are posted to the page. Why and what is Bill Grady hiding? Why does he not only refuse to answer questions or comments, but why is he censoring and deleting questions and comments protected by the 1st Amendment? This is not communist China, Bill! The public has a right to know why its District Attorney refuses to prosecute and investigate certain crimes that occur in his district. Failure to answer legitimate questions from his constituents makes Bill Grady a coward.

The case involving Vincent Carrozza who is Clearly Autistic is an atrocity. I find it hard to comprehend why a DA would put this child in the criminal population for a term which the defendant Clearly doesn't understand. Upon research I found out there is multiple cases which Autistic and other mentally challenged children are placed in our prison systems. This has to stop.

The Dutchess County’s DA’s Office is doing the right thing by working with Probation to create effective offender re-intgration community programming. We are all safer and better off when we create a criminal justice system that emphasizes rehabilitation, instead of excessive punishment, and I am proud to see hat they are leading the way.

Bill Grady has been serving Dutchess County for decades-he knows the area better than any other politician and what his constituents need. He has been so very helpful, reliable and hard-working during his tenure. This is why we continue to vote for him! I hope to see Bill Grady in office for many years to come.

I can not believe the incredible disregard for the autistic community and Vinnie Cocozza in particular.
This DA clearly has no idea or compassion about people like Vinnie.
He was placed in a residential home with a one to one aide who was not around for many minutes, obviously to protect him agains his KNOWN behaviors.
Where is the responsibility of the person, agency and home. I mean really, NO ONE in the home was watching him!
He’s not a criminal He is an adult with a documented disability, and this is a manifestation of his disability. You clearly have no idea about this community or how to deal with them and the agencies lack of promised support for him.
It was placed here for a reason, the agency the home the worker and you felt this young man.
Please make it right and send him back to his family with the proper supports.

Respectfully,
Judy Moore
Mom, advocate and supporter.

Vinnie Carroza needs to be home with his family. What if it was your son. The state has not provided the proper care for the mentally handicap, this needs to be considered when deciding there destiny. Hardened criminals and sex offenders parade in and out of Market street all day long while this kid sits in jail for using the microwave incorrectly. This family needs your help.

Disgusting... I wish I can give -5 stars. They do not care about people with disabilities such as autism, they just throw them in jail like they're nothing. However, my buddy Vinny Carozza was jailed and he is not a danger to anyone. He needs to be with family and/or some type of appropriate care facility, not in jail with a bunch of lowlife inmates that actually comment crimes. They should be finding ways to help someone like Vinny rather then just jailing him. This makes me sick...

Connie Tomlinson writing here to comment on the appalling injustice served against Vinnie Corrozza, an Autistic young man who was doing just fine in the community when living with his family. Vinnie held a job at Lowes, received Employee of the Month Recognition, cut lawns for people in his community, was made an Honorable Member of his local Fire Dept. and ALWAYS had a smile to share.

You must educate yourselves and do better. Autism runs prevalent in our society and the spectrum of this population typically does not communicate as clearly as you or I, but they are HUMAN BEINGS and deserve better. Encapsulating this young man at Sunmount, a HORRIBLE FACILITY, so far from his family, Vinnie's situation can only be exacerbated and cause further breaking down.

PLEASE, take a look at this young man, his family's strong unit, and how much Vinnie had accomplished in his life despite so many travesties. Please find the compassion within you to do the right thing and release Vinnie to his family.

And finally, do take some time to understand how Autistic people tick. A bit of knowledge, understanding, and empathy will serve you, as DA of your community well.

Thank you for your time.

A great injustice has been done to a young man on the autistic spectrum. He was wrongfully arrested for events that occurred as a result of his disability and mostly because the facility in which he lived was negligent and did not adhere to their responsibility of having a 1-1 aid for Vinnie Carozza. This is a young man with special needs and this never should have happened. It is actually shocking that things went this far. Do the right thing and send Vinnie home, he has a loving family that will care for him. In this day and age, one would think people would have some basic understanding of autism spectrum disorders. Unreal.

The DAs office apparently lacks the awareness to deal with autism in the community. Vinnie Carroza is an autistic man with special needs who has been locked up unfairly and much to his detriment. Mr. Grady has a prime opportunity to show people his compassion by helping Vinnie and his family find a way out of the current situation. He is not a danger to the community. Vinnie is a kind and loving person who needs help and supervision. For anyone reading this review that does not know his story, google either "Vinnie Carozza" or "Justice for Vinnie" and read about him. Mr. Grady - please help this man.

This DIstrict Attorney blantany refuses to prosecute inmates in state correctional facilities because he does not want to change the county’s crime statistics. He allows hardworking Correction Officers and civilian staff to become victims of often brutal assaults by saying to the asailents “there is no penalty for violence in Dutchess county.”

This office needs to be investigated by civil rights groups and any media institutions that care about justice and democracy. I recently received a ticket for making a left turn on a road which had restricted hours for making a left turn. Although I did not see the sign which stated the hours, I admit my guilt. My problem occurred when I went to my court date. I met with a Dutchess County DA representative who was processing my case to be brought to the judge. He stated to me that the officer standing next to him was the officer who issued me the ticket. It was not the officer because the officer that pulled me over had black/brown hair and was much thinner than the officer at the court. When I told him it wasn't, he stated to me, "I know all white people must look the same to you." My partner is white and I have a biracial child just as a reference, not that I ever considered skin color as a judge of character. I am also an OIF veteran. This DA office should have every civil rights organization and every news media that cares about justice breathing down their necks. This DA office is corrupt to the core! If I could give negative stars, I would.

Appealing what you are doing to that man with autism. You people do not know anything about compassion or special needs.

Disgusting treatment of an Adult with Autism. Take a sensitivity class you dullards, he was living in a group home which is not a good living situation provided by your county... You all should not be able to sleep at night.
