She was a horrible lawyer for my child custody. She took over 20,000 dollars from me. I did a hair follicle, and she did NOTHING FOR ME GETTING AT LEAST JOINT CUSTODY. ALL SHE CARES ABOUT IS MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. She was not there to help me, but to take every penny from you. Her rates from 5 have dropped down to a 3. I'm not surprised. I highly recommend NOT to have JAMIE HAZLETT as your lawyer

Jamie and her team are amazing! They were efficient and affordable. Jami was empathetic and straight forward with my family and walked us through a very stressful situation. Thank you Hazlett and Associates!!! Hopefully we will not need an attorney again anytime soon but if we do we will definitely be back to see you.

Absolutely horrible and unprofessional. Jamie likes to manipulate, and fear monger the opposite party. She also likes to use hair follicle tests without any reason or accusations behind oredering one. Any information she requests from the opposite party, whether you send it in on time or not, "she never recieved it". Pushing your case farther out. Jamie also likes to falsely serve the opposite party. She waists so many peoples money and time, its amazing she hasnt been debarred. Your first glance on how trashy she looks, should be your first warning sign. Shes not concerned about a paycheck or how many clients she gets. Her grandparents left her shares from Peoples Bank. Thats where all her money comes from. She does not care about her clients.

Not a spam, I just prefer to remain anonymous.

The rudest, most unethical attorney I've ever met and completely unprofessional both in the courtroom and client communications... if she would bother to communicate. I felt like my interest was not even a priority and she continuously "forgot" important information for my case or used excuses like, "there must have been a filing error" which only made everything last longer because she was constantly asking for extensions because she wasn't prepared. I'm worse off now than what I was before she was representing me, especially financially. Thousands down the drain for poor representation. If you're looking for an attorney with your interests in mind and at least somewhat educated in the legal system look somewhere else.

My kids father used her and so did my sisters husband. We went through a whole year of court hearings with her. She lies, trys to manipulate the other party and relys on scare tactics. I represented myself with out any law education background, and I won. Meanwhile, my kids father payed thousands of dollars and lost quite a bit of hours at work. So if you want to win your case with lies, manipulative behavior and scare tactics, shes the one. Beware. Youre waisting your money.

I want to hire her, but too expensive.
That was my first thoughts, I'm so glad I hired Jamie Hazlett firm to represent me in a child custody case. Without them beside me in Court I'd been toast. They are really good Fighters for what's right. My court battle is not over yet but they are doing the best they can for me and my little granddaughter. Thank you Jamie Hazlett and Maryann Pitcher.

Im a spouse to one of the clients and everything has been exceptional. They get back to you via phone or email in a timely matter. Very professional, they fought tooth and nail for my family. Wouldnt suggest going anywhere else. Reasonably priced. You get more than what you pay for. Above and beyond.

In a system where fathers don’t win custody often and mothers get multiple chances, Jamie Hazlett comes highly recommended. Yes, it cost money to have a seasoned professional attorney like Mrs. Hazlett. But you get what you pay for. Jamie knows the ins and outs of family law and she knows the system. She is dynamic and passionate about her profession and the spirit of a mother comes out when fighting for what’s best for the children. I am so grateful for Jamie and her team. Receiving full custody of my twins and being able to provide structure, opportunities and life adventures as their farther has been wroth every dollar spent on Hazlett & Associates!

I hired Jamie to represent me in my divorce. She is very matter of fact and knows the divorce laws in Oregon. I've already been to arbitration and once I saw Jamie "in action" during the arbitration, I knew that I hired the right attorney. She knows my case, doesn't back down and is able to push back with facts. We had a court date, but the other side failed to file paperwork necessary for their case so the case is pushed out further, but Jamie was able to get a small financial award for me during that hearing.
If you are looking for an attorney to hold your hand or to coddle you, Jamie is not that attorney. But if you want to trust someone with getting the job done, who knows the law and will fight for your best interest, Jamie is that attorney. -Laura G

In the case Ryan Wolfe vs. Vanessa Patterson: Jamie Hazlett defended me in court. She FOUGHT for my family and me. She stood up for me and my little boy. If it wasn’t for Jamie my son would have been put in an unsafe situation. Luckily she was willing to go the extra mile for my family. The service she has done for us is priceless. She has a heart of gold and I would highly recommend her. Thank you, Jamie. It was by God’s grace that you were put into my life and I will always be grateful. Ryan Wolfe lost his case. He lost because Jamie was willing to take my case and go above and beyond what a lawyer had to do in order to defend our livelihood.

She filed her clients paperwork without redacting the social security number, making her clients social security number public information! Pure incompetence plain and simple! She's as sleazy and dishonest as they come, she's lied in court on multiple occasions. So if you require an attorney that will commit perjury for you then she's the lawyer for you.

Jamie has been a terrific lawyer. She has repeatedly gained the upper hand in my custody case. This case has been over the course of 2 years. A lot of work has gone into my case. Jamie has always been more than fair and understanding when it comes to billing. Further more I personally feel she has protected my investment into her. She has often opted for the cheaper billing route on me of emails, and I rarely see full hours billed. She breaks down dates and time spent all the way to quarters of hours instead of rounding up. I've seen multiple 20, 25 minute phone calls billed at 15 minutes. Over 2 years of work and she has repeatedly saved me billing hours, which obviously saves me money. She could of rang me completely dry over 2 years if she wanted. She has been understanding and fair. I highly, HIGHLY, HIGHLY, recommend her to all people, but coming from a father, most certainly dads. I felt women usually win and getting 50/50 was unlikely due to being a father. She has got me and maintained me 50/50. I cant express how much your legal help has meant to me Jamie. She made my ex look silly on the stand, Jamie was like a pit bull in there, my ex tried to lie and Jamie kept at her until she completely flipped and admitted the truth. She's amazing guys and gals.

P.S. I read through the review before writing this, I am completely shocked!

1) Jamie wouldn't do a sliding scale for people if she was only concerned about money.
2) Jamie has other clients its impossible for her to be instantly available, however she has always gotten back in a very timely matter.
3) Jamie has billed my case in my favor on more occasions than I can count.
4) Jamie not only is aware of everything I've discussed with her, but used it to back down lies from opposing side.

If you want Jamie to win for you, go in there tell her the 100% truth, dont hide anything, Jamie will give you a realistic expectation, then exceed it in my case. Keep her in the loop and she will win for you, at the very least in my case. I think people can aim to high, build to much of an expectation based on there own wants, lose touch with reality, then be unhappy in the out come. Be realistic, listen, inform her of info in your case, she will kick arce for you!!!

Kim Jones was our attorney and she was absolutely outstanding! My husband had been fighting a custody battle for 7 years trying to get more time and custody of his daughter (now 10 years old) and this last week with the help of Kim he was finally awarded full sole custody! Our babygirl and my husband have been non stop smiling ever since! Highly recommend Kim and a Jamie as well. Kim responded quickly to emails when we had questions and when something was emergent a quick text to Jamie was sent and we got an instant reply. This office is really on top of their stuff! We can’t thank them enough for all of their help!

A little explanation about our sliding scale. We do advertise and honor our sliding scale. The sliding scale is for our hourly rate. The sliding scale is quoted by our attorneys at our client meeting based on the attorney's expertise and experience and our rates at that time. Our retainers are also usually lower than the local average. I cannot speak to this instance, as I do not know the situation or who the potential client was but based on the complexity of the case, we might quote a higher retainer. If this person feels this was dishonest, I would be happy to refund their $100 consult fee if they come into my office and ask for me.
We also have a policy that we don't allow friends or family in a consult, but this just applies to the initial consult. We do this to protect the potential client's confidentiality. If we allow others in, then the conversation is not considered confidential. WE understand the importance of friends and family members in our client's lives and take time later to answer family and friend's questions if they still exist after the consult.
I would just reiterate that three of these reviews are from people who either didn't meet with us, have second hand information, or met with us and chose not to retain. Thank you for your feedback. WE are none of us perfect, although we strive for perfection. We take all concerns to heart and hope to do better in the future and make our fee structures clearer to potential clients.

UPDATE: Neither of the individuals last name "Snook" who have offered their thoughts on my representation were client's of mine. They are opposing parties in a matter where I successfully represented the other side.

Jamie was the third attorney I hired durring my extremely Contentious custody battle, and continued issues with DHS. She was by far the most responsive efficient and effective attorney of all of them. Her team was so very professional, polite and pragmatic.
When DHS showed up at the hospital and tried to pull a quick one, I was able to reach Jamie on her cell phone and she showed up within 15 minutes and put them in their place, respectively and professionally but also with compassion and very matter of factly.
I have already recommended her team to family and friends and I will continue to do so. I will never have to look for another family law attorney so long as Jamie is in business.

Horrible experience . They said there was someone that would speak Spanish, jet that person didn't have an idea on what we needed and it seemed that he did not understand and did not give us any options. He said that the attorney was on a meeting but I saw her with the receptionist talking. I don't recommend this law firm.

We hired Jamie for a complicated custody battle. She did not listen and did things that actually made the entire thing even harder than it already was. Worse, her actions and failure to really care put a 9 year old in a dangerous position. She also overcharged us for things that she did not do and things she did incorrectly. If you have children, do not hire Jamie. She has only her own best interests at heart.

Unethical and not knowledgeable of the law. Mrs. Hazlett took our child support arrearage case saying it would be simple, we are clearly right, and was a matter of mathematics. Although not her fault for taking 3 years and not being simple she did demonstrate a lack of professionalism throughout the entire engagement. The judgment against us was based on a black and white ORS that any lawyer in the field should have known by heart. She then offered to appeal this no win case for and additional $10,000. She had not noticed my income was $200/month the entire engagement? This is after taking over $2,000 for fees over the first part of the case. She also moved during the engagement and I did not know until showing up to an empty office to pay additional retainer. I am not giving her one star because we lost only because of her lack of true professionalism. She has also kept billing an additional $250 to close the case which she will not waive. There are better lawyers in the RV for the same cost.

Jessica Pedemonte was super helpful, affordable, & had great ideas for avoiding trial in my case. Took the time to listen, acted on facts, used ethics - mind boggling for an attorney I know. I would make sure if you work with them you only hire her, however.

I would recommend Jamie to anyone who asks. She was straight up and honest and I have no doubt she was worth the money I paid. My situation took a 180 degree turn for the better and I would go to her first if I ever needed her again (hopefully not).

I insist you keep looking for representation or file with the courts yourself and save money. There were several occasions where Ms. Pedemonte was not "aware" of certain important things pertaining to my case. Due to this reason, additional paperwork needed to be filed or redrafted which took more time and money. I recommend taking your own notes at every face to face meeting with her and then having her review and sign them. Or just insist on an email confirming everything that was discussed. Not all details of my case were discussed in emails and the notes she took face to face apparently did no good to remind her. Things such as receiving half of the financial assets and having my name changed after the divorced, which both were very important to me and discussed during face to face meetings, were either overlooked or forgotten. I wonder if not as much effort or detail was put in to my case as others who were paying the $250 per hour rate. The sliding scale they have allowed me to receive service at a $150 per hour rate, but the extra money was made to due to the mistakes that were made and the time it took to fix them. Other than those things, Ms. Pedemonte and staff responded in a reasonable time to emails and questions I had regarding my case and billing. The staff had acceptable customer service and were friendly when I came in to pay. Jessica herself was not particularly friendly, which was not a super important quality in a lawyer for me, but was not rude either. If filing for divorce again, I would choose a different office for representation. Or do it myself, now that I know the court clerks will assist with getting the proper paperwork to fill out, it seems like a navigable process. Good luck with your legal issues.

My experience with this office was a horrible one. I find pedamonte to be sexist, rude, and under educated when it comes to courts and speaking in front of a judge. Many times while speaking in front of the judge she lost her train of thought and stumbled on her words,as like she had no idea what she was doing. Your money will be better spent on another lawyer.

Originally met with Mrs Pedemonte (partner to Mrs Hazlett), discussed options and timeline for being served divorce papers, paid consultation fee. When I was served, which was in the timeline I discussed with Pedemonte, I contacted Mrs Pedemonte only to learn she started a very long maternity leave. At no time did she advise she was going to be taking maternity leave during my consult.

I then met with Mrs Hazlett in the same office and was forced to pay an additional consult fee only to repeat what I had stated 2 months earlier. My experience with Mrs Hazlett was not good. On one occasion Mrs. Hazlett sent me an E-mail asking for documents her own assistant had provided me days earlier. I replied as such only to get an e-mail back with confirmation. Billed $25 for original e-mail, $25 for my reply and $25 for the confirmation she had it all along. Many of our discussions had to be repeated. She is most likely very busy with her case load, so I caution anyone facing something serious to go with an attorney that can give you the services you are paying for. After many errors caught and forgotten conversations I sent an e-mail asking for the remainder of my retainer. You guessed it! I was charged for the termination e-mail among other "administrative fees".

Take my and others advise before settling on any attorney. Good luck to you in your search for a well deserving attorney that will work for you with honesty, integrity and strong ethics. Unfortunately my experience at this office was not that.

My experience with Jamie Hazlett as my attorney over the past six months has been nothing but good. She is professional and has a lot of integrity and compassion. She is fair and will work very hard for you! Please do not listen to any bad reviews here, they are from people who are not even clients. Understand- ALL attorneys charge consultation fees and retainers. Usually twice as much.

I am so grateful to have met Jamie I recommend her to anyone who is needing an honest, trustworthy lawyer who knows how to fight for what is right. Thank you so much Jamie Hazlett you rock.
