Doug Ross and Julie Braatz were great to work with. They kept me well-informed throughout the process and were very easy to talk to. I'd definitely recommend them.

I am always very thorough and want everything to be completely understood and thought out so throughout the process, I confirmed and questioned almost everything. I financially walked away from this nightmare about 10 months after the car accident(not my fault) with a settlement that was almost enough to cover my employees that I had to hire for me while I couldn’t work or was unable to move properly. I was alive and just thankful to be done. However, last week I went for a check up at the same hospital/clinic that I went to the ER to after my accident. Something the receptionist said triggered my mind to ask her to double-check for me my balance (Assuming it was $0, as I was assured it would be MULTIPLE times both via phone and email by both my lawyer and his co-worker/settlement assistant) But that wasn’t the case. And this is where the MAJOR issue is. I have an outstanding balance of $3300.00+! I am shocked to say the least. I assumed there was an error and had her check two more times and I called the billing dept. instantly. I checked my emails and replayed phone conversations with Hupy where I was told the others insurance company doesn’t believe part of my balance (from a possible brain liaison catscan & mri) was not related to the accident-(even though My lawyer agreed with me it was because I would have never known about anything possibly wrong without going to the ER and the doctor telling me that after my accident) but fine, it I said I understood that they thought that. But my lawyer then told me that the others insurance company would give me enough in my settlement to cover this portion of the medical bill balance anyway. And multiple times again, I was asked by Hupy if I wanted them to give me a check to pay my medical bills or if I wanted them to pay it for me.-my lawyer and I both agreed that THEY would take this amount out of my settlement and pay it “so I would never need to deal with the bills”. Before I picked up my settlement check, I was told it was all taken care of. But not. now, I need to find a way to pay this big remaining balance. It’s a horrific situation to be in and any reassurance and peace that I had before is completely gone and I feel lied to because I was lied to. Someone messed up and it wasn’t me. I was told that hupy would take care of the bills from my settlement but due to miscommunication on their behalf I now am in a nightmare, again. I had asked multiple times Prior to settling if I would have to take care of any balance from my medical bills and it was always NO-There’s no way around it. I explained this to both people involved from Hupy once I found out they messed up and they “understood my frustration” and couldn’t believe they missed this. (Pretty big thing to miss) -the settlement assistant couldn’t even answer my questions and understood what it “looked like” so she told me that she would have the lawyer who represented me call me because she didn’t know what to say. Just moments later he did & said he agreed it could have been handled differently and offered to sit down to show me the numbers... which would help zero, unfortunately. I already completely went over all communication and it is completely their error that now has me in a devastating spot. He told me to contact the billing department at the hospital and ask them to “write off or decrease the bill” but after many attempts of me desperately pleading, they wouldn’t. I understand his NEE explanation but that’s NOT what I was told two months ago and the months leading up to it. I am one person and I own a small business. I try my best to get by and do the right thing. I do not have the funds to cover something like this. I understand that it is not a seemingly big deal to such a big company like H&A but for me it is. I don’t understand how this can just be looked over. As a business person, if this happened in my place of work, I would handle it way differently. For these reasons, and more, I now completely advice anyone to look for other options when considering legal representation.
Andrew was unable to understand my explanation of my case. He repeated himself over and over and before he understood the case he said we cant help you. He asked me if the person that ran me over meant to run me over. WHAT. I could tell he didn't understand what I was saying. The women was issued 2 tickets so dont tell me she's not liable Andrew maybe you should slow down and try to listen carefully to the next person

I started out believing I had chosen the right law firm to represent me in my case. In two years time, I was seriously doubting my choice. My case was given to several different individuals during that two years and at one time, was sent to another H & A firm in another city. I finally ended up with an individual that gave the impression that their "give a damn" was broken. I had poor to little communication and usually left phone conversations feeling like I should "take it or leave it". Having waited for resolution for almost two years, I finally requested a meeting with the individual's supervisor. The supervisor reviewed my case and made a determination that there was still "money on the table". After several months, we arrived at an amicable resolution. The supervisor was respectful, direct in his conversations, humorous, optimistic, aggressive and tactical. He kept me informed and followed up even if there wasn't much to report. He represents the client like a good lawyer should. Brandon Derry is top notch! I wish I would have had him in the beginning. The outcome would have been better.

I was terrified to get a lawyer after my accident. Hupy and Abraham soothed my fears and did the work for me. They were sensitive to my needs and feelings about the accident. I would highly recommend them. If God forbid I find myself in another accident I know who I'll call.

Always heard about Hupy and Abraham, then when I moved out of Wisconsin and got into my first Motorcycle accident... They were the first law firm I called. They worked with me and they worked hard getting the max amount for my settlement. Hope I do not have to go through another accident or law suit, but If I do; I'm calling Hupy and Abraham!

They didn’t even extend the courtesy of a phone call to tell me they were ill-equipped for handling my case. They just ignored me outright.
It seems to me that a denial of service can be handled in such a way that leaves a decent impression with a potential client. I am certain to never look to them should I have a case they could handle.
