I was expecting my divorce attorney to handle paperwork, counsel me on child custody and placement, and help sort out financial issues. What I wasn't expecting was the attention given to the emotional part of the divorce. I feel like Sterling Law and my attorney Katy Eckhardt professionally handled the procedural part of the divorce but also focused on my emotional well being during this painful process. I would recommend Sterling Law and Katy Eckhardt without reservation to anyone unfortunate enough to have to go through a divorce.

I worked with attorney Ellen Rhodeman on a contempt of court and child support case. She was very knowledgeable, took my opinions and needs seriously, and was extremely helpful. Extremely expensive

They were willing to work with me and really helped me navigate through the divorce proceedings. I was able to get my life back to normal without worrying about forms that I didn't understand. While I did pay a large sum up front, I was able to set up a payment plan and they only charge a flat fee. There was no guesswork or estimating hourly fees. I'm so glad I went with this firm.

In my personal opinion I believe they are over charging for the services they provide. I would seriously consider shopping around before settling with this firm. Their level of support and responsiveness has much to be desired. You can get a lot more, for much less somewhere else.

They never made promises they couldn't keep, and helped me understand everything.

I was in a situation where I was unsure if I needed to have an attorney or not, and after talking with them & having been side tracked thru the Milw Courts for a Family Matter I decided to hire them. Living 3 hours away & working full time I was able to do all the paperwork via Fax & Email. They gave me options that I myself would of not even thought of. They were upfront with the costs of services I may have needed, Luckily I was able to get this matter ruled in my favor and got my case transferred out of Milw Co. They respond to your questions in a timely matter &keep you updated as to what they have or are doing with your case. Being 43 yrs old & never had to hire an attorney & being in a different county & finding their law firm by Googling & reading all the reviews to make a call us all it took. First time ever having to use an attorney, but they made the process as comfortable as possible, especially with all of the emotions that surround a custody and divorce case. They made every attempt to get back to me and keep me informed on a timely manner and did not disguise the truth of the matter at all, straight forward and honest with the facts of my case. I suggest at least meeting with them prior to hiring anyone else.

Our Attorney Dan Exner, did an excellent job on our case. He was great getting back to us with information on a timely basis and was extremely personable and helpful. Very bright young man. Highly recommend him!

This is the worst review I could write. Sterling law firm is horrible. After my grandfather had passed away I was having questions on why it was taking so long to settle his estate. I hired an attorney with sterling lawfirm and after reviewing the case she had told me she was going to contact the current attorney handling the case. I let two weeks pass. I politely asked for an update and got nothing back. After multiple emails and voicemails with no response I decide to write a review. This review is a warning for anyone who intends to do business with this law firm. There are plenty of firms out there that will treat you like a human being, not take your money then leave you in the dark like this one did me..

Earlier this year I started the process for filing a divorce. I started the process by myself filing pro-se, but when it came to negotiating child custody and support things were getting out of hand and I got concerned about making a mistake. I called Sterling Law Offices and Attorney Dan Exner helped sorting through what we had already done. Dan was great and his guidance helped us work through some issues I do not think we would have resolved. I thought it would be charged an arm and a leg for legal services, but Dan was understanding and helped me address the paperwork and process effectively. When we appeared in court for the final hearing I felt confident I knew what I was doing and did not feel nearly as scared as before. He did a great job coaching me so I was prepared. It was as good as an experience as you can have when splitting up a family.

This past fall, I filed for divorce. My husband and I were in a situation where neither of us really needed a lawyer to sort things out, so I decided to file pro se. I was concerned about making a mistake in the paperwork and delaying the final separation, so I called Sterling Law. Attorney Festerling agreed to work w/me on a "consult only" basis, meaning she would answer my questions and review my documents, charging only for the time spent on those things. There would be no big legal fees incurred for her presence in court or for her time in filling out documents that I was capable of handling myself.

She was kind and helpful, and our case went through without a hitch. The overall outlay was very reasonable. I was very happy with the help I received and felt confident going to the court date, knowing all our ducks were in a row. It was as good as an experience like this can be.
